When Hallmark viewers tune in to the Home & Family TV show tomorrow morning, it’s a safe bet that they won’t see Mark Steines as co-host. The cable channel has released a statement that they have parted ways with Steines. His bio has already been removed from the Home & Family portion of Hallmark’s website. Read an update here.
Here’s the brief and straight-to-the-point statement from Hallmark:
Statement by Hallmark Channel
Issued on May 31, 2018Today Hallmark Channel has parted ways with Mark Steines as the co-host of the network’s lifestyle series “Home &Family.” We are extremely grateful to Mark for his incredible work and wish him all the best success in his future endeavors.
A former correspondent and substitute anchor on Entertainment Tonight, Steines helped launch the current incarnation of Home & Family in October 2012. Paige Davis was his first on-screen partner. She was replaced by Christina Ferrare a month later. Debbie Matenopoulos replaced Ferrare in 2016 and now, it appears Matenopoulos is the show’s sole host for the time being.
It’s unclear what caused Steines to leave the program so abruptly but, with the current climate in the industry, one can guess that we haven’t heard the end of this story. It may be something as simple as May 2018 was the end of his contract. When Ferrare was replaced, there was little acknowledgment.
Steines hasn’t made any updates to his social media accounts or website. His Instagram post on Memorial Day indicates that all was well on the Home & Family set.
What do you think? Will you miss Steines as co-host of Home & Family on Hallmark? Will you still watch the program?
So sorry Mark is leaving he is such an asset to the show and the main reason I watch. He told the mans side of things which sometimes is hard for us women, especially on a womens show. I wish him blessings on his next journey and really they have a male co host replacement.
Love the show. Will not watch with out Mark.
I AM ONCE AGAIN HUGELY DISAPPOINTED!! WHEN CRISTINA WAS BOOTED I WAS SAD BUT KNEW MARK’S PROFESSIINALUSM AND SINCERE CHARISMA WAS ENOUGH TO SAVE THE SHOW. I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHAT HAPPENED BUT THE FACT THAT HALLMARK USED THE WORDS “parted ways with” CANT BE GOOD. I WONT CONTINUE WATCHING. —- UNLESS THERE IS AN IMMORAL/ UNETHICAL SITUATION (which I highly doubt) I BELIEVE HALLMARK CHANNEL JUST SHOT THEMSELVES IN THE FOOT. ITS SAD THAT GENUINELT KIND HEARTED PEOPLE LIKE CRISTINA AND MARK GET PUSHED OUT LIKE THIS, WITH NO REAL CELEBRATION OF THEIR CONTRIBUTION TO THE COMPANY’S SUCCESS. GOD BLESD… Read more »
So so so very sad about the shocking news about Mark Steines loved loved loved The family that that show had with all of the host cohost and everyone involved and all their segments!!!
Why can’t they leave well enough alone ? I have a feeling this was the station’s idea just like when they got rid of Christina really dumb idea. Good luck mark. I’m done with this show.
I’m so sorry to hear Mark Steines will no longer be on the show
I loved his rapport with Debbie & all of the hosts on the show!
He will be missed & I wish him well.
I am totally shocked and saddened to learn of Mark’s sudden departure from the show. I wish him all the best, but I certainly hope this exit is of his own choosing and not because some “big honcho” at the head of the network decided differently. His smiling face, positive attitude and constant support and love of his television family, besides his own family, has always been very evident to the viewers. I will continue to watch, as I love this show and all it imparts in so many ways, but it will be a bit difficult until the reality… Read more »
I will miss Mark, he was an excellent co-host and was always kind, understanding and helpful. Since we do not know why he is suddenly gone, I do know that it is heartbreaking as
a viewer. I hope that Hallmark lets us know. I will continue to watch as the show is very good, entertaining and educational. I wish Mark and his family the best and look forward to seeing him in whatever he now does in the future.
Mark was the head of the Family show. This will be like a divorce, and his place will always be empty. He brought energy, talent, and the component that makes a family, unity.
Mark will truly be missed on home and family. I enjoyed all your enthusiasm you brought to the show as well as all the project ideas. The show will not be the same without you, you were the main reason I watched the show. Debbie is not the stand alone host that you have always been.
what a shock this morning to find out mark is out! there have been so many changes.
I’m beginning to get discouraged with all the replacements on the home and family show.
why why why? someone give us an answer!
At a loss for words! I wish Mark the best. Don’t know if I’ll continue watching the show, he was a pleasure to watch, funny with his puns.
I will really miss Mark. I will miss hearing about Parker Rose. Where did he go?
You will be missed Mark!

I will miss Mark , but a male host is necessary!
