Looks like Lucifer Morningstar isn’t quite a lucky devil any longer. His show’s ratings have fallen year after year and so, FOX has cancelled its Lucifer TV show. Sadly, fans of the supernatural crime drama won’t be seeing a fourth season this fall.
A FOX comedy-drama, Lucifer stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Rachael Harris, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Tom Welling. The supernatural procedural centers on Lucifer Morningstar (Ellis) who abandoned his throne, retired to Los Angeles, opened up a nightclub, and started helping LAPD Detective Chloe Decker (German) crack cases.
Lucifer: A Look at the Ratings
The third season of Lucifer is averaging a 0.83 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.30 million viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 20% and down by 10%, respectively. While those declines aren’t huge, the series has seen dips in its ratings each season and the series could easily have been cancelled before. Apparently, the ratings dipped just a bit too low.
Out of the scripted FOX TV shows we’re tracking, Lucifer ranks 13th in terms of its demo performance and rises to 10th place in terms of average total audience size.
Lucifer showrunner Joe Henderson broke the bad news this afternoon.
So… yeah. #Lucifer has been cancelled. And it fucking HURTS. I loved this show so damn much and everyone put their heart and soul into it. Heartbreaking doesn't begin to describe.

The defacto series finale airs Monday, May 14th.

Didn’t FOX buy Hulu or part of Hulu? If FOX can’t find a slot for Lucifer on any of their networks why not just stream it on Hulu, FOX.com or FOX on demand. Sad to end this show at season 3, it has been such great show and interesting twist on the biblical devil story. and to end it like it has ended, I mean come on seriously you going to let Chloe see the devil face and then boom that’s it no more. To leave it like that?! At least give us a two parter that finishes it properly. This has been must see viewing and to kill it off like this is short-sighted in the extreme. This was the one thing that salvaged Fox’s reputation for me. Guess that’s out the window.
So sad to just let it drop like they did. There is more to tell. I am grieving the loss of Person of Interest and now this! At least do a 13 episode final season. It had a lousy time slot too. It seems all you Fat Cats at networks care about is the 20-40 demographic which I am NOT a part of, but it just shows greed, and it is a shame.
Don’t cancel Lucifer, it’s a great show. We need an ending.

Looks like again Fox is making a terrible mistake by ending Lucifer in such a bad way it was a good third season and I hope they make 4th one to and don’t have it and off in such a bad way I really hope they reconsider bringing it back for a 4th season and end it off how everybody Hope’s it does. PLEASE DON’T END IT THIS WAY!!!!!!!!

Once again Fox made a bone head move on cancelling a terrific show. I am furious that they feel they can keep other STUPID shows on and yet they want to cancel Lucifer which is original and different. Tom Ellis is just great in this, funny,touching, sad, mysterious. I look forward to seeing this show every week.The season finale was the best so far. Please change your mind and bring this show back for a 4th season, if you have any brains.

Lucifer was a great show, really different from the gritty dramas that seem to populate TV these days. I think Fox is making a terrible mistake in letting this series go; there’s a huge fan following for Lucifer out there. It’d be really nice if another network could pick Lucifer up. Likewise, I’m cancelling my Fox streaming service today!
I definitely enjoyed the show a lot. So disappointed in FOX cancelling Lucifer. Was actually one of the most decent enjoyable shows I have seen in a long time and then of course they have to go and take something good away. I really hope they reconsider and get lucifer back up and going. PLEASE!
This was a great show.I hate it when they leave you hanging after the finale and then they cancel it and you don’t get a ending. Please bring back season 4
