Despite a wicked drop in the ratings last year, FOX renewed its Lucifer TV show for a third season. Give the devil his due, though. Decline aside, the supernatural police procedural remained a top-10 ratings earner for the network. Can it hold on, come hell or high water? Will Lucifer be cancelled or renewed for season four? Stay tuned. **6/15/2018: See update below.
A comedy drama, Lucifer stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Rachael Harris, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Tom Welling. The FOX TV series centers on Lucifer Morningstar (Ellis) who abandoned his throne, retired to Los Angeles, opened up a nightclub, and started helping LAPD Detective Chloe Decker (German) crack cases. Now with his mother (Helfer) taken care of, in season three, Lucifer wants to figure out who kidnapped him and why his angel wings have returned. He also has to deal with a new rival for Chloe’s attention, Lieutenant Marcus Pierce (Welling), who, unlike Lucifer, is strategic, reserved, and well-respected.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/29 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The second season of Lucifer averaged a 1.04 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.654 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Lucifer TV show? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?

**6/15/2018 update: Netflix has picked up Lucifer season four. Details here.
Finally you have something good and different in hand Do not throw it away just keep going
I watched every episode of season 1 multiple times. Season 1 was pure magic. They dropped the ball big time in season 2. That whole “mother” plotline was terrible. They are trying to bring back some of the magic in season 3 but it’s just not measuring up to what they had. I know characters have to grow and progress but the way Ellis filled the screen in season one left a permanent smile on my face when watching him. His charisma and swagger was utterly mesmerizing.
From the first episode I was hooked. I watch a lot of series and this is one of the best. It should carry on. The ratings when released shouldn’t determine if it is carried on when people are still just discovering it
whoever did this chart think you need to change it you have not put 3×17 you go from 16 to 18
Thanks!
pls keep going
pls keep going.
Please keep going. Best ön TV, Both story and actors.
In love with the show
I have enjoyed watching Lucifer season three and would love to see a season 4!! I have watched season 1 through 3 and they have been drama like and funny which to me is non realistic but you can relate if you kinda go with the Bible. I hope they have a season 4!!!
This is one of my favorite shows! I love Lucifer’s character & Tom Ellis is hilarious! I LOL at least once every episode. Please do not cancel it! I want season 4! I look forward to every episode. I need more!
Keep. It. Going. It’s amazing…funny, interesting, surprising, witty, and even suspenseful!!! Love Love Love it, and the devil is sexy!!
PLEASE PLEASE DON’T CANCEL! This show saved my life from depression… It is amazing, don’t do what they did to Constantine.
This is An AMAZING! AMAZING show – please DON’T cancel! PLLEAASEE … WE need this!
I watch this show…and…believe it or not….I enjoy it! This coming from an atheist. The show does have its religious angle…but they do not hit you over the head with it. It is not like “accept Jesus now!” or “how can you not believe?!”. It is simply entertaining and Tom Ellis is perfectly cast as Lucifer. I was looking for something to watch in its timeslot, came upon the show, and thought “OK, I guess I will give it a shot….let’s see what happens!”. Then I thought “hey….this isn’t bad”. I’ve been watching it ever since. Hope it continues.
This is one of the best shows on tv. It has all the eliments that you need. I love Tom Ellis and i think the actors are doing a great job. Keep this one please.
