What’s This TV Show About?
A CBS political thriller, Madam Secretary stars Téa Leoni, Tim Daly, Sara Ramirez, Željko Ivanek, Keith Carradine, Sebastian Arcelus, Patina Miller, Geoffrey Arend, Erich Bergen, Kathrine Herzer, Wallis Currie-Wood, and Evan Roe. The drama follows the shrewd, determined Elizabeth McCord (Leoni). As U.S. Secretary of State, she battles office politics, while driving diplomacy and negotiating global deals.
Elizabeth was once a CIA analyst, who exited that post for ethical reasons. She later returned to public life, at the request of President Conrad Dalton (Carradine). He values her apolitical leanings, knowledge of the Middle East, flair for languages, and unconventional thinking. Elizabeth is married to Henry (Daly), a former theology professor who is now an intelligence operative. Together, they’re bringing up three children, which can really test her diplomatic skills.
Season Five Ratings
The fifth season of Madam Secretary averaged a 0.56 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.41 million viewers. Compared to season four, that’s down by 9% and 12%, respectively. Find out how Madam Secretary stacks up against the other CBS TV shows.

PLEASE DO NOT cancel this show—- it’s one of the best shows on TV these days—- just shift the title of Madame Secretary to Madame President —- we could have a whole year’s series on how someone runs for president with all the pitfalls, backbiting etc…. Her DOS team could be her campaign team and the end should show her winning——
Remember President Palmer , the black president in ‘24’? and then Obama won …… Think what this next series could do for promoting a female president!

Please renew this show . I absolutely love it! Highlight of my tv week. I like to see a program that grapples with moral problems…. and which gives an insight into American politics. All the actors are superb and I am sure the writers can come up with enough material to keep it going for several more series. Thank you
Watched the show since the beginning but, OMG in 2019 season they sank a nation of people and populated the world with “climate refugees” What’s left – the method of all our deaths during the coming 12 years.
I will admit I didn’t watch MADAM SECRETARY at first. But one day going thru my CBS app I watched a couple shows and boy I feel in love with the show and most of the characters. I beg CBS Please! Do not cancel. When I wanna be a couch potato I go back and watch the previous shows like Bull and Blue Bloods. They are my 3 favorite programs. I just wish they would quit skipping weeks grrr
I’m a bit late watching the series. I absolutely love it. Please! Do not cancel. Besides watching the weekly show I’m also catching up watching the previous season shows on Saturday and Sunday nights on CBS. I watch very few TV shows, Madam Secretary my favorite.
Do not cancel. Change title to Madame President. Keep all the actors. Dalton can be her advisor. It’s an informative shoe. Don’t cancel.
Madam Secretary is in my opinion one of the best on TV. I would be very sad to see this show be cancelled. The entire cast is amazing.
This was one of my favorite shows. I realize it’s about politics so that piece is unavoidable. But, please show both sides of issues. It would be a wonderful opportunity to try to break the division in our country. Renewed or cancelled i’m about ready to delete this show from my list because the flavor is ALWAYS liberal. Come on, you have a big audience, try showing both sides of issues

Love this show. My husband and I are faithful followers and can’t imagine a week without it. We can’t wait to see Madame President!! Please keep this great cast and drama.
The show should continue, she should become president and it should be called Madame president.
A timely series, I strongly recommend continuing Madam Secretary during this significant period in our American political reality.
