TV show description:
Based on the 1980s Tom Selleck vehicle from Donald P. Bellisario and Glen A. Larson, the new Magnum PI TV show was developed for television by Peter M. Lenkov and Eric Guggenheim. The action-adventure crime drama centers on private investigator Thomas Magnum (Hernandez).
Upon returning home from Afghanistan, Magnum, a decorated former Navy SEAL, decides to put his military skills to use as a P.I. He also lives in a guest cottage on the Robin’s Nest estate, where he serves as a security consultant. In addition to being a bonafide American hero, Magnum is a devout Detroit Tigers fan and something of a charmer.
A beautiful, impressive, and disavowed MI:6 agent, Juliet Higgins (Weeks) serves as the estate’s majordomo. She too has a second job — keeping Magnum in line, which she does with a little help from her two Dobermans.
When Magnum needs help on a case, he calls in his former comrades-in-arms, POW survivors Theodore “TC” Calvin (Hill) and Orville “Rick” Wright (Knighton). TC was a Marine chopper pilot and now runs Island Hoppers, a helicopter tour business. Meanwhile, former gunner Rick now runs a hot nightclub on Oahu and has connections all over the island.
Detective Gordon Katsumoto (Kang) isn’t thrilled that Magnum shows up at so many of his crime scenes, and the PI’s casual demeanor also gets under his skin. Katsumoto would be hard-pressed to admit how similar he and Magnum are at heart, but that doesn’t mean it’s not true.
Rounding out the crew is Teuila “Kumu” Tuileta, who serves as the “House Mom” and cultural curator at the Robin’s Nest. Magnum is ready to crack the case with his team at the ready, a vintage Ferrari at his disposal, and his trademark aviator sunglasses.

Magnum and Higgins take a major step forward in their relationship. At the same time, the past comes back to haunt them when a previous suspect becomes their client. TC aims to scale up Island Hoppers. Rick gets a new business partner.

I am very unhappy that Magnum PI was cancelled. We finally had good TV shows for Friday night and the best series was cancelled. Please reinstate this show

I only have 6 favorite shows and I DVR them. Magnum PI 2018 is one. PLEASE reconsider. I hate reality tv, don’ watch cartoon crap. Just want entertainment. Bring it back.

Magnum pI 2018 series is a great tv show, it’s so nice to get to watch it on a Friday nite with my husband, we both enjoy it. I sure wish it would continue. We like the action, the relationships of the gang, and romance that it has. Best show on. Please reconsider more seasons !!
Absolutely should not have been cancelled. This is a great show! Casting is great & writers have done a great job. So disappointed. Why is this show cancelled and other horrible shows continue.
when i first heard a about the reboot i thought it would never work. A new Magnum and Higgins is a woman! I was totally wrong. This is one of my favorite shows. Whoever made this decision should be fired. Over 7 million viewers! If this gets replaced with another reality show I’ll stop watching CBS. Maybe another network will be smart enough to pick it up.

Why would you cancel a show that is so popular with the fans. I would not miss it. Yet you leave on crap shows such as Survivor, Masked a singer, Talk Shows one after the other, Reality Shows. Not going to continue watching any CBS shows!!!
This is about the craziest cancellation I have seen in recent years – ratings were going up ( Final was about an 8.5 ) , its viewership was higher than many renewed shows including SWAT – CBS went brain dead when they made this decision – I suspect they did so before the great season final that portended a possible morphing of the show into an Hawaiian Hart to Hart for season 5 – perhaps Netflix will make CBS look as foolish with this cancellation as they did when they picked up Lucifer for 3 more seasons after an ABC… Read more »
I totally disagree with them canceling Magnum PI it was a GREAT show I know a lot of our friends watched it besides us and are very upset with you guys would totally LOVE to see it come back in the fall
I love magnum we have to many reality shows. I wish CBS would reconsider the canceling of magnum.
Magnum PI is my favorite series and I am very disappointed that it is cancelled. The story lines were very good this year and so was the development of the characters.
I feel that there was not very much advertising of this show to draw fans. I also felt that the show was not on for two or three weeks in a row and that lack of consistency loses the audience.
Coming attractions were not advertised was also detrimental. I missed a few episodes because of the time or day change.
Hope you would reconsider doing a season 5.
Magnum PI is one of my favourite series and definitely hope there will be a continuation into a series 5.
Watched the May 6 episode and thought it was great. This series has been developing our characters in a more realistic way than do many other TV shows. Finally we get to see that both Higgins & Magnum realise what the audience and the other characters in the show have known for a long time. This episode feels like it may be the final one in this series, but I am hoping that it is not. There is plenty of scope for the writers to go in many directions. Just love magnum PI I hope it will stay on because they have been taking alot of shows off the air that have been excellent shows. Please have magnum PI get renewed for season 5.
