The latest medical drama on CBS is going the way of Three Rivers and NBC’s Mercy and Trauma. Miami Medical has been cancelled after one season on the air. However, there is some good news.
Miami Medical follows the exciting lives of a group of talented surgeons who work at one of the best trauma centers in the country. The Friday night drama features Lana Parrilla , Jeremy Northam, Omar Gooding, Mike Vogel, and Elisabeth Harnois.
The CBS medical series got off to a poor start on April 2nd with a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.59 million viewers. In week two, the numbers dropped to a 1.4 rating in the demo and 7.1 million viewers. Viewership has continued to tumble and thus far, the season has averaged a disappointing 1.3 rating in the demo and 6.7 million viewers.
To put these figures in perspective, Numb3rs’ season had better numbers — an average of a 1.8 rating and 8.27 million — and was ultimately cancelled.

And now, like so many of the other medical dramas from this season, Miami Medical has been cancelled. There won’t be a second season.
On the positive side, the show was scheduled to finish its run tonight, leaving five of its 13 episodes unaired. But now, CBS has added some additional airdates.
Next Friday’s will be a repeat of the pilot episode. Then, original episodes will return on June 4th, paired with new installments of Flashpoint. The last episode of Miami Medical is expected to air on July 2nd.

I personally loved it from the get go, thought it was original and kind of neat how one event led to the next and the next, etc.
Despite other comments I thought the writing was clever and let’s face it, coming up with new stuff is hard, it’s pretty much all been done!
I think CBS should have given this one some more thought, ridiculous how a series only gets 5 or so weeks before such a decision is made. I wish another network would pick it up, but let’s face it, not many chances get taken anymore!
Wow quel bonne émission, moi et mon mari avions très hâte au vendredi pour l’écouté, sommes très décus qu’elle est été annulée .. On trouvait ca génial d’avoir une série trauma différente qui traite d’un évenement en particulier au lieu de traiter plusieurs évenement castatrophique à la fois .. nous trouvions l’idée bien original. Estpérant que CBS vont changé d’idée.
It was horrible, so painfully contrived I was embarrassed for the actors.
I just won’t accept junk for my medical dramas. Why can’t they create a new ER?

One season out, and this is what you think?? It happens to quite possibly be, the best, of the medical series!! Good acting, GREAT stories..Come on!! Give it some more thought before you pull the plug on something as good as this!!
Reality shows and Dancing with Whatever..??Television is fast becoming a venue for the slow witted or totally ignorant! What about the viewers with BRAINS?!

I can not believe they cancelled this show. It was one of the best things on for Friday night. I thought the time slot was perfect for it. What were they thinking. I also liked Mercy and Trauma- what a shame- yes they were all medicals but the underlying theme was different for each one.
Miami Medical was horrible & am not surprised it was cancelled. It might have been an ok medical drama, but it was highly unrealistic Miami wise (mountains in the distance? are you serious?)
Now I am upset about both Numb3rs and Ghost Whisperer being cancelled. What a shame. Dumb CBS.
I’m glad someone agrees with me. This show was so NOT Miami and tried way too hard to appear as hip and cool as CSI:Miami. None of the cast was very appealing and none of the storylines or medical cases were interesting in the least. It was clear no thought whatsoever went into the making of this series so it didn’t surprise me at all that it was canceled but I have no idea how it got greenlit in the first place.
I am sorry to see Miami Medical is cancelled. I hope CBS changes their mind or another channel picks it up.
Miami Medical was a mediocre show, but was starting to grow on me. It was fairly dramatic, and not as saturated with sex as some of the others, such as Greys Anatomy, which should have been cancelled a year ago or so. Wish they would give it more time. Perhaps if they air the rest of the episodes this year, it will gain an audience, and a repreive.

I was really upset to hear the Miami Medical was cancelled! I thought it was a really good show! What the heck is wrong w/ CBS? Getting rid of 2 of the best shows that I have EVER watched!!!!
My wife and I love this show. Maybe if CBS didn’t put it on a Friday night following two “brainless” shows like ghost whisperer and medium, and then check the neilsen ratings on the 18 to 49 age group, then it most likely would succeed. Put it on Tuesday nights in the fall following NCIS and NCIS LA and rate it with us ‘old farts’ and Miami Medical WOULD KILL!!! Way to go, whatever dimwit made this decision!!!!
I think this was one of the worst medical shows I’ve ever seen. It was laughable how bad it was. And from the results of this poll I wonder if folks would watch any nonsense the networks put on television these days. I tried watching every episode of this sorry excuse for a show and I’m glad CBS canceled it. Now can they please bring back — NUM3ERS already!
You should try and give this new show some time for people to find it. This cast is so warm and fun to watch. I hate that numbers was cancelled, but it is gone and now you are cancelling the replacement! You people don’t get it! You wouldn’t know a great show if it bit you in the ASS!!!!!

What in God’s name is wrong with CBS???? Can someone please explain it to me? I am SOOOOO SICK of reality shows. I’m so tired of CBS cancelling all of its good shows. Miami Medical is a great show. I was scared to start watching it because I figured it would be cancelled. Once I did though I was hooked and before I knew it, it was cancelled. And what about all the other good shows that won’t be back next season? If CBS keeps this up I won’t watch the network anymore even though they still have SOME good shows on.
I agree with you 100% Especially what you said about being afraid to watch a new show because you know it will probably be cancelled!!! And how can they go by tv viewers when half of america is using tivo/dvr!Me being one of them. So the numbers are not accurate because those who record are not being counted! They better figure a way to count those people before every show ends up cancelled!!!!
