Are Christy and Bonnie still walking the walk during the fifth season of the Mom TV show on CBS? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like Mom is cancelled or renewed for season six. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustration when their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we’d like to offer you the chance to rate all the Mom season five episodes here.
A CBS sitcom, Mom stars Anna Faris, Allison Janney, Jaime Pressly, Matt Jones, Sadie Calvano, Blake Garrett Rosenthal, Mimi Kennedy, Beth Hall, and William Fichtner. The series centers on Christy (Faris), a single mom in recovery who has moved back in with her own single, recovering mother, Bonnie (Janney). Bonnie’s attempts to make up for her failings can try Christy’s patience. After all, she’s busy working on her relationships with her own kids and their father and working toward a new career. Meanwhile, Bonnie is learning how to forge healthy relationships and still wonders what she’ll be when she grows up. Together, and with the help of AA, Christy and Bonnie spot one another along the road to recovery.
What do you think? Which season five episodes of the Mom TV series do you rate as wonderful, terrible, or somewhere between? Should CBS cancel or renew Mom for a sixth season? Don’t forget to vote, and share your thoughts, below.
“Mom” is a great show and funny, dont cancel
I really liked the show the first two seasons, it was funny in portraying the struggle to maintain sobriety and dealing with the issues that led to their drinking problems. Then just like Two and a half men and two broke girls it collapsed into becoming raunchier and more focused on sex, and with “mom” living with an alcoholic. It has also become cheesy and dumb. I don’t even watch it anymore. I’d be more than fine with it being cancelled
“Mom” is a great show and is funny i watch reruns of “Mom” all the time and always look forward to seeing a new episode, keep the show going
Following my comments on episodes 1 and 2, I watched episodes 3, 4 and 5. Mom just doesn’t hold my interest any longer. I am tuning out. The show is definitely showing its age, is beyond predictable and has passed its peak. I tried. I really tried but the shows originality and once exceptional comic flare no longer exists. It appears, based on what the show has become that if you are a single woman dealing with drug addiction and alcoholism you are not also able to be employed and raise a family. Why else would those very real aspects… Read more »
i like this show alot it is funny i always look forward to watching new episodes every week, and during the week i watch the reruns, definitely keep “Mom”
I LOVE this show “MOM”…so funny!!!..Please keep it!?
I do agree with the comments below. However I think they do the story as real life and the writers focus on bringing back the kids. I just love Bonnie and her fiancé they are so funny. But really hope they keep this show. I look forward to Thursday night comedy. There is nothing on
Good point
Omg I love this show I cannot get through my week without this show. Best Show ever.!!! I even got my MOM hooked and her husband. They both love this show
Laughed once during episode 2. It was more like a light chuckle actually. Let this season be the last.
Keep MOM!! Great show. Characters are wonderful. Great humor and sensivity about real life.
I can be sleepy as hell, but I refuse to miss the show. This is a great show for me,and my recovery keep up the GREAT job!!!!!
Yes the first two seasons it truly was. But that ship sailed.
A down to earth accurate real life depiction of recovering alcoholics and their dilemmas in recovery. The wit is sharp, subtle and poignant. Purchased seasons 1-4 last fall and have watched them multiple times while waiting for Season 5…..which got off to a slow start with E-1 but is picking up nicely. Miss Roscoe, Candace, Baxter and Jaime Pressly, hoping they return. Just attended a viewing of filming this show at WB and was amazed how much work goes into producing just 1 episode. Keep on keepin’ on, Mom!
I wish I started watching it years ago. My daughter has flown the coup, but I see a lot of episodes that are so easy to relate to
I still like Mom & find it funny. I too wish the kids & ex, Roscoe were in more episodes. I hope they renew it.
Loved season one! Since then it has gone down hill. They have inexplicably dropped so many great characters that supported Christy and Bonnie. Namely, Christy’s children, Violet and Roscoe who were very funny and brought a great deal of heart to the family. Don’t even get me started on Christy’s ex-husband Roscoe (hysterical) and the staff at the restaurant where Christy still (supposedly) works. They were amazing and critical characters. I just finished watching the season 5 opener and didn’t laugh once, not even a chuckle. Honestly, I just deleted all future recordings of Mom from my DVR. Not good… Read more »
I feel the exact opposite. Season one is the weakest of the series. The writers never figured out how to work violet into the plots, and the restaurant characters were not needed. As long as the stories stay focused on Christy and Bonnie and their immediate circle of friends, that’s where the show excels.
KEEP IT
