What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the Freeform cable channel, the Motherland: Fort Salem TV show stars Taylor Hickson, Jessica Sutton, Ashley Nicole Williams, Amalia Holm, Demetria McKinney and Lyne Renée. Sheryl Lee Ralph, Victor Webster, Tony Giroux, and Catherine Lough Haggquist recur. The series is set in an alternate version of present-day America. In this reality, witches ended their persecution 300 years ago by cutting a deal with the United States government to fight for their country. The story follows three young women from basic training in combat magic into terrifying and thrilling early deployment. In this world, the traditional roles of gender and power are flipped with women on the front lines, the fight looming and terrorist threats that are strikingly familiar to our world, but with supernatural tactics and weapons. The third season picks up after the second season finale. Without a military or a home, Abigail (Williams), Tally (Sutton), Raelle (Hickson), and Scylla (Holm) are fugitives on the run. They seek protection alongside the Dodger community in the Cession. With witch hunters working against them from inside the White House, they must call upon ancient forces in the final battle for their right to exist.
Season Three Ratings
The third season of Motherland: Fort Salem averaged a 0.03 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 93,000 viewers in the live+same day ratings (includes all DVR playback through 3:00 AM). Compared to season two, that’s down by 43% in the demo and down by 48% in viewership. While these numbers don’t include further delayed or streaming viewing, they are a very good indicator of how a show is performing, especially when compared to others on the same channel. There can be other economic factors involved in a show’s fate, but the higher-rated series are usually renewed and the lower-rated ones are cancelled. I hate to see Motherland Fort Salem come.to an end. For one there are very FEW GREAT shows when it comes to witch’s. And this show was not only one of my FAVORITES but I was super impressed to learn Amanda Tapping was not just a producer but she also directed many episodes. I really think there were many more story lines that could have been told. Plus it had such a positive impact for not just young women bit also appealed to a wide audience including men. I am totally disappointed about Motherland ending after 3 seasons. My husband and I looked forward to watching this show together every week. Well Freeform I guess there is no reason for us to watch your channel anymore. I hope another network picks them up and continues with the series.

Really disappointed that motherland was canceled for the fourth season completely not satisfied with that decision it’s a really great show worth watching great casting great story all around is great I thought it would’ve been one of them shows to surpass supernatural in there 15 seasons but silly me right I was wrong Which is really sad I’m going to really miss waiting for the next episode to come out to be able to sit there and watch it that’s the only reason why I got star is to watch motherland but anyways I really do hope y’all change… Read more »

As usual, anything new and worth watching that appeals to the “thinking” public is being cancelled!! Freeform, I thought you were more broad thinking, but I am sure it is all about the Benjamins!
It’s messed up that they are cancelling this show compared to other garbage shows that are still running and will continue to run. An original series that isnt a reboot from a previous failed project. This one has a good story line and a excellent all round cast. Ill miss this series.
Angry and sad it’s ending after season 3
This show was unique. Nothing like it out there, so of course you cancelled it! Can’t have unique shows out there!! And since the kiddies aren’t watching it then of course it gets cancelled!! Just wondering, who do you think watches more tv, 18-49 yr olds that a=e still in school or working or retired people? Hmm? I wonder?
Y’all kinda messed up with canceling this one. It was actually a show that wasn’t a copycat of predecessors from the 90’s and had a good plot. I really liked it, from writing to production and everything in between, but I’m done with your channel if you are just going to put out shows to invest in and cancel them that quickly.
