NCIS has some big changes ahead. The CBS drama is moving to a new night after 18 years and star Mark Harmon will likely have a reduced role on the series.
CBS Entertainment President Kelly Kahl spoke about Harmon’s role in the upcoming 19th season, per Deadline:
“Mark’s always been part of the show, Mark’s always going to be part of the show. In terms of his on-air appearances, we’re just going to have to see how it plays out going forward.”
At the end of last season, Gibbs’ boat exploded and Harmon’s character could be seen swimming away. Viewers will find out about his fate in the early episodes of season 19. As far as the show’s move from Tuesday to Monday nights, Kahl said the following, per TV Line:
“We hope to improve the [Monday] time period significantly, and we hope that it can be a strong lead-in to help launch NCIS: Hawai’i…. We realize that we can’t take [the time slot change] for granted. We have to help educate people and let them know where it’s moving to.”
NCIS returns to CBS on Monday, September 20th.
What do you think? Are you planning to keep watching NCIS on Monday nights? Will you continue to watch if Harmon isn’t on the series as much?
Yes! I’m in. I record all episodes, change in schedule is not a problem. If Mark Harmon semi retires my household will still watch
Love NCIS and plan to keep watching it. Hope it stay as good as it’s always been.
I have watched every episode of NCIS, but with so many of the cast leaving over the years, it is not like it was. I realise Mark Harmon is getting older and David McCallum is now 88. I’ll still be watching when it airs in the UK.
No Mark Harmon then I can give the show a pass. It was hard enough losing David McCullum.
I will always watch NCIS. It is the best show produced on any network.
I miss the fantastic cast that have come and gone. As even in the corporate world, this is common. It would make for an interesting and spellbinding benefit if they brought back those prior stars more often.
Really love Gary Cole so excited about new season of NCIS. I’m really upset about Bishop leaving, though. I liked her and Torres together.
Will always watch NCIS
Will always watch NCIS, no matter what time or channel. Will miss NCIS New Orleans and don’t know why they had to cancel that. Look forward to NCIS Hawaii.
Probably will always watch NCIS, almost quit when ABBY LEFT!! Time slot worries me but I have DVR so can watch one and record others. Excited for new season to start!!
Yes. I like everyone on the show and hope Mark Harmon will still have a role.
Will always watch NCIS.
CBS has gone to the dogs. They should still have MacGiver and NCIS NEW ORLEANS. There isn’t much on. Mostly wa and daytch chanels 41.4 and 42. Only good Tv night is Sat day and night.
Will never stop watching. My favorite drama of all times.
The time slot change makes it difficult for me to watch it…. I’ll have to tape it I guess and watch it at another time……… i’ll continue to watch as long as it doesn’t get really dumb like a lot of shows seem to be doing lately
I think the show still has a great future , after the allegations against mark in a cancel culture world I’m not surprised , but I really hope this season is as good as all the others , in a ever changing world we need shows like NCIS , Law and order and greys anatomy , they are shows we have watched for years that we have counted on thru raising our kids , deaths , and happy times , and now a pandemic !!!!
What allegations? I haven’t heard anything of this?
