Inspired by a real medical director’s experience at the oldest public hospital in America, the New Amsterdam TV show follows a caring young doctor who wants to fix the system and maybe even inspire his colleagues to help.
Doctor Max Goodwin (Eggold) is a caring and charming, yet no-nonsense physician. His goal is to fix a broken medical system and to provide exceptional care to the people who need it most. He inspires (almost) everyone around him, and will stop at nothing to breathe new life into the understaffed, underfunded and underappreciated hospital.
New Amsterdam is the only facility in the world capable of treating Ebola patients, prisoners from Rikers Island, and the President of the United States.
Goodwin’s colleagues include brilliant Doctor Hana Sharpe (Agyeman), upbeat Doctor Lauren Bloom ( Montgomery), driven Doctor Floyd Reynolds (Sims), enthusiastic Doctor Iggy Frome (Labine), and astute Doctor Vijay Kapoor (Kher).

I am an retired RN who loves watching New Amsterdam. It is authentic, interesting and entertaining. It shows the importance of empathy, compassion vs money and power. I thoroughly enjoy watching it and want the show to continue. Great casting and subject matters that are relevant.
PLEASE!! Don’t get rid of New Amsterdam show, I enjoy watching this medical program. Actors are truly to be admired.
I really like the show. Great story line and a new twist on a “hospital” type show. Keep it going!!!
Some of the show is very real, I’m sure. I know that chemotherapy and radiation are not the only methods of treatment for some cancers. That part is misleading in my opinion.
Enjoyed the show, nice to see medical staff with heart and helping those with and WITHOUT insurance…

New Amsterdam show sucks I wish you would bring back code black so much better and love Rob Lowe being in it. I tape new Amsterdam and fast forward through it every week now I no longer tape it worst and most boring hospital show out there

the show was a little slow but picked up later .the dr’s changing of the waiting room is a great change done at all hospitals
