Does Max have more than he can handle in the second season of the New Amsterdam TV show on NBC? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like New Amsterdam is cancelled or renewed for season three. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustration when their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we invite you to rate all of the season two episodes of New Amsterdam for us here. *Status update below.
An NBC medical drama series, New Amsterdam stars Ryan Eggold, Freema Agyeman, Janet Montgomery, Jocko Sims, Anupam Kher, and Tyler Labine. Doctor Max Goodwin (Eggold) is a caring physician whose goal is to fix a broken medical system and to provide exceptional care to the people who need it most. He inspires (almost) everyone around him, and will stop at nothing to breathe new life into the understaffed, underfunded and underappreciated New Amsterdam Medical Center. Those working with Max include Dr. Lauren Bloom (Montgomery), the head of the ER; oncologist Dr. Helen Sharpe (Agyeman); cardiovascular surgeon Dr. Floyd Reynolds (Sims); psychiatrist Dr. Iggy Frome (Labine); and Dr. Vijay Kapoor (Kher), head of the Neurological Department.

*1/11/20 update: NBC has renewed New Amsterdam for three additional years — seasons three, four, and five — which will take it through the 2022-23 television season.
Basically was not bad except the stories fall all over themselves pushing immoral values and pushing a challenged girl into an abortion in opposition to the girl’s guardian’s desires is the last straw Won’t watch it again.
I love this show, so well done and much better than Chicago MD which is all about drama with the characters. I just don’t like that his wife died. I hope they keep this one for a long time.
I love New Amsterdam and hope it will continue for years to come. It is the best hospital show I’ve ever seen
I love New Amsterdam!! I love medical shows but this one is different from the other ones!! They deal with real medical issues and helping people!! Beat the system!! Max gives everything he has to make sure his patience gets everything they need!! He puts them ahead of himself!! They deal with insurance companies/problems. Treat patients even if they don’t have insurance!!!!! It’s a all around feel good show!! Makes me laugh and cry! Cast is amazing!! Ryan Eggold is the best and he is perfect for this role!!!!! Please don’t cancel this awesome show!!!!!
I loved the one when I realized his was pretending his wife was still alive.
Along with The Good Doctor, this is the best TV medical show out there. I tire easily when personal plots override the main intention of the show. Max wants to heal the system, but finds there are many people and much money that is standing in his way. The way he and his staff find solutions to many of the problems facing hospitals today is charming!
LOVE this show! So much better than depressing shoot ’em up shows.

Competes pretty well against other medical shows of the same type (The Good Doctor etc). Think sooner or later they’re going to have to add more main characters than just the original 5 docs or it’s going to get a little boring.
This is probably the best series in tv! Love watching!! I never miss it!

Find this to be a feel good kind of TV show. Story lines are often unrealistic, almost corny at times, but cast is likable. NBC is smart to broadcast after This Is Us.
Best Show Ever! I love Max’s desire to help whether it’s practical or not.. I feel they are real and very charismatic.. I will ban NBC if New Amsterdam doesn’t renew for Season 3!
