What’s This TV Show About?
A scripted OWN comedy series, The Paynes stars Cassi Davis Patton, LaVan Davis, Jackée Harry, Stephanie Charles, Markice Moore, JD McCrary, Sanai Victoria, and Anthony O. Dalton. The sitcom centers on Ella and Curtis Payne (Davis Patton and Davis). He’s a somewhat brash, retired fire chief, while she’s a patient, long-suffering homemaker. Retirement isn’t all smooth sailing for them, and amidst the laughter they experience plenty of lows along with the highs.

Will OWN cancel or renew The Paynes for season two? Tyler Perry has been a successful producer for the Oprah Winfrey Network — so much so that OWN ordered 38 episodes when it picked up The Paynes to series. Since this show is a spin-off of his long-lived comedy, Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, I expect a renewal. I will update this page with breaking developments. I was devastated when House of Payne ran its course. Then Tyler Perry gave us The Paynes and mended my broken heart. I got a chance to see the Payne Clan all growed up minus Calvins kids but all in all, I treasured every moment. Thisis a great show! Curtis and Ella keep me laughing with addition to the new cast members. It would be a shame to cancel them now. We know someone or we ourselves have been in some of these same situations this show portray. Please give us another season. I love the entire cast
It is a great show and won muss it alot, I have my dvr set to record every episode of them.i would be disappointed if it wasn’t renewal for season two this is Friday in our house watching the Payne’s and it get very interesting and good now. Please renewal it. Love it
I’ve been watching every episode of “The Paynes” since it’s January 2018 Debut. It’s great to see Ella and Curtis back again. Please DO NOT cancel the show!!! I’m really enjoying the show, and I’m enjoying all the characters like Nyla, Terrence, and Kendrick just to mention a few. In my opinion, the show is just really ramping up, and getting more interesting. We really need good tv shows like the paynes! Please renew “The Paynes”.

Although I truly miss the original show “The House Of Payne”; I’m enjoying the Paynes, and I hope that the original cast from “The House of Payne” is periodically on the new show! Please don’t cancel the Paynes! I’m enjoying the new show and I’m looking forward to watching the paynes for a number of seasons to come!
Used to love the original. This one doesn’t seem to be as funny. They seem to drag out the episodes with needless dialogue, just going back and forth, kinda like they are just trying to fill out the time. Wish that it would be reverted back to the old way, with some of the old characters to spice it up a little.
Hope the old cast can be incorporated into the new show. I love the old show
I was excited about The Paynes returning and tuned in to watch. However, I am not enjoying the new cast members. I like the old cast better, really wanted to see them pick up with CJ, Miranda. Etc….
I want the story of Miranda and Calvin to come back. Bring the old crew back to this new one. The new cast Needs help.
That new girl with the boyfriend needs help and she’s boring and she doesn’t listen at all. She’s going to get hurt again and putting her kids in danger again.
I don’t think that the show is cancelled but I think that it’s taking a break

Most of the viewers wanted House of Payne to come back. We wanted to see the outcome of Calvin and Miranda’s divorce. We want to continue to see CJ and Janine’s marriage continue to shine. Not really feeling the up and moving and taking on a new family.
I agree with Mike. This does not feel genuine.
Everyone keeps asking for the same thing and I don’t understand why they not bring the old cast back….., Miranda needs to come and finish what she started. I knew she wasn’t going to stay with Calvin she’s all about money she knew what she was getting into. I feel that she’s wrong for walking away.
