Airing on the Showtime cable channel, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels stars Nathan Lane, Natalie Dormer, Daniel Zovatto, Kerry Bishé, Rory Kinnear, Adriana Barraza, Michael Gladis, Jessica Garza, and Johnathan Nieves. It’s set in 1938 Los Angeles, a time and place deeply infused with social and political tension. What do you think? Were you hoping the Penny Dreadful: City of Angels TV show would be renewed for a second season? Are you sorry that Showtime cancelled this TV series, instead?
Yes please renew !!!
This new rendition Penny Dreadful: City of Angles just aired Episode 10 of Season one. This show has been nothing like the first series which ran for 3 seasons. It was set Victorian England and dealt in Gothic Horror. This version set in 1938 LA tends to be a political and race centered commentary running under the disguise santa muerte for the horror. Bad casting, subpar acting and poor scripts through out the 10 episode season. Lets hope this is just a one season series and is not renewed.
This version of Penny Dreadful, City of Angles does not deserve a second season. The acting in this one is subpar and lack luster. Even the special effects in this version have below those of the first Penny Dreadful.
This version stated off poorly and has steadily gotten more and more lame as it has progresses. Even trying to be serious Nathan Lane is still a comic drama queen same as he was in The Birdcage. He is just not as loud and shrill as he was in The Birdcage. As for Natalie Dormer , one is glad when the credit run as least you know she is not out again as one of many characters she plays. Was there not enough funding to hire more actors or at least one with more skill then Dormer? No matter which… Read more »
I never got into the first series. I tried on several occasions but it never was something that i had to watch or even wanted to finish the episodes I did see. I wasn’t even planning on watching City of Angels and honestly if the pandemic never happened I probably wouldn’t have. I watched simply for a lack of anything butter to to watch. I think the only genuine flaw this show has is it’s name. When you have a show like Penny Dreadful, a show that those who loved it couldn’t fathom why it wasn’t more popular and were… Read more »
I am an Angeleno, even though I am not of mexican ancestry, I have enjoyed the series very much. Great acting, locations, cinematography, music, production, etc. Please renew it! I’ll be delighted to watch more seasons, plus, any story happening in LA has enough material to last for years. Several heritages here! Cheers!
My wife and I binged season 1. LOVED IT!!!! Please give us more.

Love this show! It would be great to see a season 2. We definitely would watch.
My husband and I love penny dreadful city of angels and hope it is renewed
Love, Love, Love “City of Angels” please be renewed for another season. Nathan Lane and Natalie Dormer are amazing in this series. The time period and story are wonderful and the music is hauntingly good. I’m a fan for sure.
I feel the producers should never added “Penny Dreadful” to the title. I isn’t and never will be what the original was. It has horrible over acting and a ridiculous plot. Its more historic than mystical. The original was magical for me. Please give it a proper burial.
Such an incredible show. Stellar cast, impactful storytelling. Nathan Lane is a star and gives a compelling performance (he really excels in dramatic roles). Adriana Barraza too. Amazing writing, acting and production!
cancel this crap, i TRIED to watch this show, its not only slow, its boring as hell, the acting is abismal, even with the a-list celebrities, its just horrible, wont be watching again.
