Episode 01-02: Thursday, 9/29/11
Episode two came down 13% in the demo to a 2.7 rating and 12.51 million. It was fourth in its timeslot. The network was down by 13% year-to-year and this new series is currently ranking in the middle of the pack on CBS. If the ratings keep going down like this, it won’t take much for Person of Interest to be in the bottom tier and be in serious danger.
Season average: 2.9 demo with 12.92 million.
Episode 01-01: Thursday, 9/22/11
This new drama had some positive reviews but didn’t deliver particularly strong ratings. The first episode garnered a 3.1 in the 18-49 demographic and 13.33 million viewers. It was in fourth place for the timeslot. Year-to-year, aging CSI’s last season debut did 9% better in the demo and 10% better in total viewers.
Some commenters on this site indicated that they felt the pacing was very slow and that seems to match up with the quarter hour breakdowns. Person of Interest started with a 3.3 in the demo and finished with a 2.9 rating. While these numbers aren’t bad, they are hardly what CBS was hoping for.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the new Person of Interest TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?

RENEW!!!! This is the ONLY CLEAN show without all those vulgarities, perversions, graphic blood, &c.!
Person of Interest is an awesome series! Please keep it on the air.
Great show. Great cast. Keep it going!
I LOVE this show, and as I recall, Person of Interest does a great job in order-age-range TV rating (30-65 rating, maybe?) Whether or not they should definitely renew the show for two or more seasons.
I hate to say it, but it looks like Rob is improving Person of Interest’s ratings! Not that I wanted them to get worse, mind you, I just wasn’t expecting such a positive change. Well, whatever it takes to stay on the air.
They would be crazy not to renew it.
Love this show. Please renew it for the fall.
After the winter finale episode, the PC Award, and the last episode, how could CBS even think about it?! This is a great show!
PLEASE keep the show for another season! I absolutely love it!
Definitely renew it for a second season. I came to it a bit late, but I’m loving it. Great writing.
One of the best shows on T.V I would give it a 2 season renewal
I love this show now, wasn’t sure in the beginning. I’m hoping it gets renewed and since it won the People’s Choice award, hopefully CBS will renew it. I love the characters and the odd friendship between Reese and Finch.
I have really enjoyed this new show. I’ll be really disappointed if it isn’t renewed for another season. Most of the show’s I enjoyed last year were cancelled.
I really love this show! It is a great new twist on a crime drama where the good guys actually get a chance to save people, not just investigate the baddies. Also, it is very interesting that they don’t really know who will turn out as the “victim or perpetrator”. This is an awesome show! They had better renew it or I will be very sad.
Person if Interest is a great show with great actors and should be renewed for a new season.
Best new idea for a show! Fantastic writing!
