The second season of the Six TV show is coming to History in the new year. In advance of season two, History’s Executive Vice President for Programming, Eli Leher, has given a little update. Reportedly, season two is just finishing production, and the cable network is looking forward to “growing” the scripted series. Lehrer also addressed the uptick in military dramas, that followed the Six TV series premiere.
A military combat drama airing on the History channel, Six TV show stars Walton Goggins, Barry Sloane, Kyle Schmid, Juan-Pablo Raba, Edwin Hodge, Dominic Adams, Brianne Davis, Nadine Velazquez, Jaylen Moore, Donny Boaz, and Nondumiso Tembe. The series centers on the members of Navy SEAL Team Six. Look for Olivia Munn, Eric Ladin, Erik Palladino, Katherine Evans, and Nikolai Nikolaeff in Six, season two.
DEADLINE: After History’s Six came out, three other military drama series were launched by the broadcast networks, NBC’s The Brave, CBS’ SEAL Team and the The CW’s Valor. What did you think about the increased competition in the space?
LEHRER: I suppose it was flattering. I think we took pride in the idea that we got there first and that there were a number of critics who recognized that Six had done it at a very high level. We were obviously very proud of its success, that it was the second-highest-rated scripted premiere in cable, and we’re very excited about Season 2 which is finishing production now. I think you always worry that a space will get saturated, but we really believe in the creative and vision of (Six co-creator) William Broyles Jr. and that team and are confident that they’ve made an even better second season. So we’re bullish on growing the show even more.
What do you think? Did you watch the first season of the Six TV show? Do you plan to check out season two on History?
SIX is back! Thank God!
I love this show, each episode is well written, I was always on the edge of my seat. It’s a much better military show that some I’ve seen but this show has it all. The actors, writing, scenery makes it believable,
SIX is an absolutely a riveting show and would definitely watch Season 2 and hope it renews for many more. It is one of the best military shows on, along with The Brave. The only two realistic military shows unlike the unrealistic sappy drama filled Seal Team.
This show was awesome. I saw the trailer for the new season and I am so excited for it to be aired. when can we expect it. Season 1 had me on me seat the whole series. Not like the other shows that deal with military. I felt I was there with the cast. Please release the new season.
Love the show six I agree it had me on the edge of my seat !! Feeling like I was there with them !!!!! I really love this show ! Seal team & the Brave are awesome too !

I will be watching SIX along with all the other military dramas.
Glad it is coming back. Good show.
so, thee are what 5 total? as opposed to a dozen family comedies, a dozen cop shows, a dozen night time soap operas how many singing/competition reality shows… oh right those don’t count….
oh, I forgot the DOZEN OR MORE COMIC BOOK shows
Yes too many I always think about it so I cut them all, I dislike any military shows.

Love all the military shows. The operations and danger they are involved in makes for great action and drama. Nice way to acknowledge the heroic things they do to keep us safe.
I’m in favor of SIX plus all the other military shows.
These shows are a great tribute to our brave military men and woman. They are a vivid reminder of how our military keep our country safe, now and for future generations.
Yes to many military/cop and medical shows in my opinion, at least on the four broadcast channels. Streaming services have more room for more shows I would think. Not like they care what I think.
what about all the family comedies? ABC alone has like 8 of them
