Star Trek fans received the first Star Trek: Beyond trailer earlier this week, and some fans were very underwhelmed by the 90-second trailer.
George Takei was not all too thrilled by the new trailer either, and he shared his thoughts about the first look at Star Trek: Beyond after the trailer was released.
According to The Wrap, he said:
“It doesn’t have that element that made ‘Star Trek,’ Gene Roddenberry‘s ‘Star Trek,’ what it was. It looked like a terrific action-adventure movie. A lot of clinging on cliffs and getting smashed against rocks, so it should be a very successful ‘Star Trek’ movie. I didn’t in the preview note anything of the substance of what made Gene Roddenberry‘s ‘Star Trek’ so engaging and it was the commentary on social justice, political reality at the time.”
Star Trek: Beyond brings back Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto as Kirk and Spock. Luther star Idris Elba will star as the villain.
Were you underwhelmed by the Star Trek: Beyond trailer? Tell us what you think.
Who cares what Takei thinks? He’s only been a “Token” since his stint on Star Trek anyway. Ask Shatner what he thinks and that’ll be worth hearing!
Shatner the giant twat and wife killer? Sure, I’ll ask him over an amazing guy like Takei.
You’re just a troll, Garbonzo. Back under the bridge with you.
