Supergirl is moving to CW for its second season, but the series might have stayed at CBS if the CW deal had not worked out.
That comes from Leslie Moonves, the man in charge at CBS. He spoke about the series and the switch to CW at the CBS Upfronts on Wednesday.
According to Deadline, he said the following:
“It’s great to own two networks. Supergirl fits better on the CW. If they didn’t go there, we would’ve probably taken it back.”
Glenn Geller also spoke about the series and its move to CW, and he echoed Moonves sentiments. He said, “It’s a win-win since we co-own the CW. We worked out great deal. And who would say we wouldn’t have picked it up had it not gone to the CW.”
Supergirl will join the line-up of DC shows on CW next fall. The network picked it up for a full 22-episode order, and it will keep its Monday night time slot next fall.
Are you a fan of Supergirl? Are you excited to see season two? Tell us what you think.
Super excited it’s coming back for a second season. I watched every week. I watch all the DC shows on the CW and love the move. Now, it’s CW on the fall Monday through Thursday. How about Friday’s? Can we add another super hero to the week?
Glad to hear Supergirl will be back!!’ Love the show! Calista please come back! Your character is a major draw for the show; you do it so well!
I am happy that it is returning.
Thank goodness Supergirl was kept. It one my wife & I watch together.
Glad to see it go to the CW, it will have 4 days of DC Superheroes now. If the move to Vancouver happens, I can see other cost saving measures happening. Loss of some cast members for sure.
Due to the lack of rental housing in Vancouver, the production teams will actually saving money by having the cast-members bunking together in a studio apartment.
“Nice to meet you Calista, I’m Franz. Bottom bunk is mine.”
