If you see Leslie Jones in the grocery store, it probably won’t be connected to an ABC television show. The network has reportedly opted to stop producing the Supermarket Sweep TV show.
A game show, the Supermarket Sweep TV series is hosted by Jones and is the latest iteration of the competition series that debuted in 1965. A fast-paced competition, the show follows teams of two friends or relations. Clad in iconic colorful sweatshirts, the teams compete against one another in back-to-back games using their grocery shopping skills and knowledge of food store merchandise. Teams compete for the chance to play in the “Super Sweep,” a race against the clock to find five products in order to win a big cash prize.
Airing on Sunday nights, the second season of Supermarket Sweep averaged a 0.39 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.32 million viewers in the live+same day ratings. Compared to season one, that’s down by 45% in the demo and down by 27% in viewership in the live+same day ratings (including DVR playback through 3:00 AM). In the live+7 day ratings, season two averaged a 0.60 demo with 2.78 million viewers.
Supermarket Sweep was not part of ABC’s announcement about the upcoming 2022-23 broadcast television season and Deadline reports that the network has indefinitely shelved the game show. It could return at some point (in its current incarnation or some other) but, there are no plans to do so.

Please bring the show back with a nice pleasant person to host, not Leslie. The show in the 90’s I have watched over and over. I am 74 years old and this is a show that people my age would watch everyday, like Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, needs to be in an early time slot. Morning. afternoon, or early evening. I really liked Supermarket Sweep, but the host, Leslie Jones was a disaster. The host should be there to move the show along and be secondary to the teams and competition. Ms. Jones made the show more about her and that was annoying and added nothing good to the show. Get a better host and bring it back, please. I watch the 90’s show on Samsung TV Plus where it has its own channel and love it.
So sad supermarket sweeps was cancelled. My husband and I enjoyed watching this show.
So sad this was canceled. Couldn’t stand the new host, but I love this show. Get a better host and a bigger store and do it again! Bring back Shop til You Drop, too!!

I really loved this show & Leslie Jones.. My life long best friend and i watched and discussed it weekly. I’m not a fan of game shows but I did like this show. Hope some way Supermarket Sweep comes back. It was a lot of fun.

We loved this show! So sorry to hear it is not coming back when utter **** like Dancing with the Stars and every incarnation of the Bachelor nonsense continues ad nauseum.
My wife and I liked the show and loved Leslie’s love for life. We watched all the episodes and just enjoyed it. They bring back good shows and then cancel them without cause.
So disappointing!!! Was such a fun show to be able to watch as a family.
I loved that they brought the show back, and watched every episode of the new version, but Leslie Jones has a personality that really got on the nerves of me and my family. She helped bring some good changes to the show, but the way she acted to the contestants and to the poor security guard every episode was so rude and irritating. I do hope they bring the show back again, but with a more down-to-earth host who doesn’t act crazy or insult people just to provide the viewers with a cheap laugh.
