Last year, although The Blacklist TV show dropped a little in the Nielsen ratings 18-49 demo, it actually rose in terms of total audience size. Now that it’s back for a sixth season and the cancelled spin-off is a distant memory, can it regain some of the ground it has ceded over the years or, is this the beginning of the end for the Concierge of Crime? Will The Blacklist be cancelled or renewed for season seven? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
An NBC action thriller, The Blacklist stars James Spader, Megan Boone, Diego Klattenhoff, Amir Arison, Mozhan Marnò, Hisham Tawfiq, and Harry Lennix. The crime drama centers on one of the FBI’s most wanted fugitives, Raymond “Red” Reddington (Spader), who offers to help the authorities if rookie agent Elizabeth Keen (Boone) partners with him. In season six, following revelations that Red is not who he claimed to be, Liz is determined to get to the truth, even while Red continues to build his empire and eliminate his rivals.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/18 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.

For comparisons: The fifth season of The Blacklist averaged a 0.93 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.66 million viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like The Blacklist TV series? Should this NBC TV show be cancelled or renewed for a seventh season? How many more seasons should it run?
3/11/19 update: NBC has renewed The Blacklist TV show for a seventh season.
Oh plz let there be a season 7. I cant get enough of the blacklist. Best tv series ever….
Absolutely yes! Best drama on TV right now! Love Spader! He deserves more recognition for his acting.
Yes! Must renew…I live to see that show!
Should definitely be renewed, one of my favorite shows on TV
The blacklist is the best show on TV, I kept watching the entire series over and over from season 1. On my days off ill be in my room watching it on on-demand. I’ve turned on so many of my friends to watch. All the cast play their part very well. I would hate to see the show cancel for season 7.
Spader is still the MAN!!! Tired of Boone but the show must go on!
I love this show but the first two episodes of season 6 are literally giving me a headache. What is with the ridiculous songs playing over the dialogue. It’s difficult to follow the plot since I can’t hear the actors.
Disappointed with writers, show runner. They ruined it. Not sure I will stick around. Don’t like that red got arrested. Liz turned him in. NBC must want show to end. Probably the final season.
I love this show. I plan my night around it coming on. Would like to see elizabeth be more on Red s side.
Fabulous program. James Spader is the best actor on TV. With this second episode and the arrest, I feel it is written as if it is the last season. Smart TV!!!
I really, really like this program. It is very well written and the character Red Reddington is well played. The character Liz is sometime a little dry and cold but is a good pairing to Red’s character. I try to NEVER miss an episode. I’ve left parties and meetings to get back home to watch this program. It is of the caliber of Star Trek, a lasting quality! It is also relatable as was the program, My Name is Earl. I would hope that the producers realize the hit that they have on their hands and will continue the program… Read more »
