TV show description:
Set in the 1980s, this sitcom follows the Goldbergs, a loving American family who yells more than most. Adam, the geeky 11-year-old son, documents his family’s life with his video camera. The series is based on creator Adam F. Goldberg’s real-life family experiences, which he also used to capture on videotape.
Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey) is an overbearing and overprotective PTA mom who loves to shop and isn’t afraid to use her big mouth to protect her kids. She rules the family with absolute authority — and zero sense of boundaries.
Murray (Jeff Garlin) is a gruff, hot-tempered dad who is never scary. He’s triggered by a pin drop but struggles to stay calm. He runs the “Ottoman Empire”, the family furniture business and comes home weary after a long day, wanting nothing more than to veg in front of the television in his underwear. Helpless without his wife, he’s content to let her rule the roost.
The eldest child, Erica (Hayley Orrantia), is 17 years old and in rebellion mode. She’s smart and sexy and is nobody’s fool. She manipulates and beats up on her younger brothers but ultimately looks out for them.
Overly emotional, Barry (Troy Gentile) is 16 years old and has severe middle-child syndrome. He’s got horrible hygiene and even worse style. Awkward around girls, he spends his free time at the Moonlight Skate Rink and freestyle rapping.
Camera-wielding Adam (Sam Giambrone) is the youngest child bursting with energy — and is largely ignored by his family. Nothing makes him happier than a family fight. He thinks arguing is the only way to interact with his older siblings — since they usually won’t have anything to do with him.
Al “Pops” Solomon (George Segal) is the wild man of the clan — and the widowed grandfather. Sometimes a little senile, he’s a shameless Don Juan schooling little Adam in the ways of love. He dresses in leisure suits and dates an endless parade of younger gold diggers. Pops’ grandchildren adore him while his daughter tries to mother him, something he does not appreciate.

What do you think? Do you like The Goldbergs TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for an 11th season?
FUNNY SHOW…….PERIOD.
A wonderful, funny comedy which reminds me a little of The Wonder Years. Please renew The Goldbergs. It’s a show the whole family can enjoy!
If this website is a “ploy” to get opinions so “the big guys” can decide on renewing or not, as Laura says, they should actually watch the show. They might learn that Beverly Solomon Goldberg is the daughter of Al Solomon (George Segal), not daughter-in-law.
Thanks for your kind comment. This description was written based on the network description, long before the show debuted. I’ve corrected the summary.
Love this show. Cracks me up every week. It’s very relatable to my generation. This show definitely needs to be renewed!
This show is awesome! My kids, who are. teenagers love it as well!
very good show
I absolutely love this show. It doesn’t have all the violence, sex shots, etc, but this show is the BEST!! PLEASE don’t cancel this show! It is finally a show that isn’t obnoxious like that one with the meddling mom that lives with her son, this is just the best show! The Mom is the tops! I totally relate with her! I love the show, I love the show! It keeps me in stitches because I relate!
I LOVE this show!! It is the only comedy that my husband will actually sit down and watch. We laugh at it every week. We are both keeping our fingers crossed that the network brings this jem back next year.
This is the best show on TV. To anybody who experienced childhood, teens knows exactly how the 80’s ruled. Please, please, please keep renewing this sho
A favourite in our house. It should be renewed as it is the funniest new comedy this past season! We love all the characters with their quirks.
This is one of the funniest shows I have watched in many years. I watch it together with my 22 year old daughter. She loves it, it her favorite show and mine. Great job!!!!! The cast is spot on. Great talent.
Keep it going…….
This show hasn’t been canceled yet. This website is a ploy to get people opinions about the show to see if they like it or not. These comments help the big guys decided weather to renew the show or not. I like this show because I was a kid in the 80s, and I get to see old actors like George Segal. In the present, we don’t get to see those actors that we grew up watching on tv.
Love this show so much. Being 37 years old every episode reminds me of my childhood. the toys, clothes, dances are all classic. Great show and I hope it gets picked up again for another season
Great show. Would be better if they stuck to a more realistic time line. Example: In last episode the kids we’re attending the box office release of “Return of the Jedi” which was released at theaters on May 25, 1983. That would have been what, one or two weeks from the end of the school year? Yet at the same time the eldest son was joining the school wrestling team, and the school drama class was in the process of designing stage sets and rehearsing for a school play. Neither event would take place at the end of a school… Read more »
I love this show!! Brings back so many memories. I laugh so hard every time I watch. When first saw the show I thought it was a home movie.
This show should definitely be renewed. It is great! It makes me laugh every week. So true to the 80’s.
