Gonzalez plays Neil Melendez and Nicole plays Carly Lever on the medical drama, which focuses on Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore), a young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome. The cast also includes Antonia Thomas, Hill Harper, Richard Schiff, Christina Chang, Fiona Gubelmann, Will Yun Lee, and Paige Spara.
WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW!
If you watched the season three finale of The Good Doctor, you won’t be surprised as to why Nicholas Gonzalez is leaving. During the episode, his character died after a tragic accident. As for Jasika Nicole, the reason for her exit is a little more unclear. EP David Shore told TVLine that while Nicole won’t be returning as a series regular for season four, he “would love to see her on the show, but it will not be in the same capacity.”would love to see her on the show, but it will not be in the same capacity.”
And what can fans expect from season four of the ABC TV show? Shore told TVLine we will see Shaun in a different light:
I think we’re going to be putting him in more of a supervisory role in Season 4 and see how he rises to that challenge. And, of course, the relationship [between Shaun and Lea]. Exploring that, as we discussed earlier, will be a big part of it.”
What do you think? Do you watch The Good Doctor? Are you excited for season four?
If you wanted to get rid of someone why a loved character????? Why not the worst one in the show, Morgan, so you take off a loved character because your an idiot..I doubt I will watch anymore because why watch a show if your just going to take off the GOOD CHARACTERS. Nothing to look forward to. The creator of the shows in idiot!!!!!!!!!!!
I have watched this since the beginning. I never expected to get hooked on it but I have a grandson that has Asperger’s and Shawn reminds me of him.
I’m looking forward to season 4
Not happy with Melendez leaving!!! I wanted to see Neil and Claire together – finally!!! He is such a big part of the show – it won’t be the same without him!! I want him to live!! Can’t you find a way Shaun! Let Shaun save the day again and bring Neil back to us!!!
I am so sad to see Dr Melendez leave. I was hoping for he and Claire to develop a more meaningful even romantic relationship. I would be pleased to see Dr Murphy and Lea have a real relationship. The dynamic for both of them will be interesting to say the least. Since the capability of intimacy and responsibility on relationship levels seem to be nearly non existent for both of them. It would be a lovely story line to see them develop successfully. Now, there is a job for the writers 🙂 Of course tears flowed at the season end…… Read more »
Great storie. Want more
The season finale was amazing and the acting from all the actors superb !! I really thought it was the end of the series but happy to hear that it will continue.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE find a way to bring back the fantastic DR. MELENDEZ!!!!!!
Sad dr Melendez leaves. Wanted him and carly together:( hope it changes in season 4 and he wakes up. I really liked him!!
This is one of my favorite reality shows. I hated to see Dr. Melendez leave. But that does happen in reality and in real life as well. I love all of the rest of the characters they all are good actors. Really look forward to season 4
I love the show and I will probably keep watching, but killing Dr. Melendez was a very big mistake!
I mean, come on, what other character offers such a treat for the eye with the whole package? He was intelligent, successful, gifted, vulnerable, kind and one of the sexiest doctors on TV!
Big, huge mistake indeed!!!
I hate they killed off Dr Melendez. No longer give a da#@ about Lea.
I love the show. I have my DVR record every episode just in case I am unable to watch the show in real time. A season 4 hookup between Shaun and Leah could be used to improve personal characteristics of both characters. I think it is time for Shaun to be a kind of “walking” physical anatomy specialist….even more so than since S1E1
No, I will not watch, because of the characters leaving the show.
I LOVE THIS SHOW. I am so sad they killed off the sexiest doctor on the set. I mean, I’m 74 but not dead and really enjoyed seeing him interact with all the other interns/doctors. I will definitely still watch the show since I want to see what happens to Lea and Shaun. I would have loved to see the love connection between Dr. Neil and Dr. Claire….I thought they were good together. I also want to praise Freddie Highmore for his acting ability…his portrayal of an autistic adult is spot on. And his relationship with Dr. Aaron is truly… Read more »
It would have been nice to lose Morgan Reznick. What a tiresome character she is.
