In this comedy series, Nathan Miller (Will Arnett) is a recent divorced local news reporter. He’s looking forward to living the life of a single man — until his parents’ marital problems unexpectedly derail his plans.
After Nathan breaks the news of his divorce to his parents — Carol (Margo Martindale) and Tom Miller (Beau Bridges) — his father is inspired to follow his lead. He stuns his family when he leaves his wife of 43 years.
Already in shock, Nathan is even more aghast when his vibrant but meddlesome mother decides to move in with him. Meanwhile, his absent-minded father decides to impose upon Nathan’s happily-married sister, Debbie (Jayma Mays), her husband Adam (Nelson Franklin), and their daughter Mikayla (Eve Moon).
Ray (JB Smoove), Nathan’s best friend and news cameraman, was excited to be Nathan’s wingman in the dating scene, but Carol manages to even cramp his style.
Now, as Nathan and his sister settle in with their truly impossible parents, they both wonder just how long the aggravating adjustment period is going to last.
Episode #34 — Hero
When Nathan decides he should have a better relationship with his niece Mikayla, he agrees to use his celebrity status to help Debbie and Adam get her into a popular school. Meanwhile, when Kip develops side effects from his sleeping pills, Carol and Tom agree to help him kick the habit by sleep-training him.
First aired: July 18, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like The Millers TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled? Why do you think it didn’t survive long enough to see a third season?
Please don’t cancel the show. One of the few sitcom’s on television worth watching. Reconsider CBS!
I like The Millers am sad to hear of is cancelation. I find it funny. I just hope this means the McCarthys are not too far behind. That is a sorry excuse for a sitcom. I have watched it twice and don’t remembering laughing out loud once. I would have thought that it would be cancelled before The Millers
This was a great show why do you cancel all the good shows and the ones that are terrible stay on.
Please don’t cancel this show!!! It’s me “new show” favorite!!!
My family enjoys the show. Has a lot of potential for future episodes. Tired of all the reality junk and sometimes one just needs to relax with a comedy.
I thought this was break out show that had a lot of potential. It always seems that the a tv series is never given enough time to grow into what it could be. Unfortunate we are such a disposable society with such a short attention span – that is why I have shied away from watching any new tv series because they just don’t last and I can always find the oldies but goodies on cable somewhere. Just gives me more time to read a good book.
I loved the show. True Comedy. NOTHING LIKE THE STUPID TWO AND A HALF MEN!!
Loved the show and think the network ought to take a second look at the show as it is definitely worth saving.
I love this show. Pls do not cancel.
The usual. As soon as you become a fan of a show, they cancel it. The only problem with the show is the writing could be better. Instead of canceling it, try hiring a couple new writers. That should add a breath of fresh air to the show.
Glad its being cancelled its a really boring show, not funny at all.
Could have been a great show. The premise strayed from the main characters. When Sean Hayes was added, the core audience rejected the show completely – It did not need his addition to ‘save it’. It should also have kept a continued story arc instead of a new subject for each episode – also, the ‘formula’ for series television by having to repeat characters names for audiences to remember them was not adhered to. The young female character playing the daughter had better comic timing that Sean Hayes did. The sister and brother-in-law characters were not utilized well. Beau Bridges… Read more »
WHy would they cancel a show that has humor and kid friendly and keep all these shows that cuss and show nude scenes during the times they know kids a re watching. They cant leave a show on that is funny and not full of BS. Listen to the people who actually are the reason you get a check
I was very sorry to hear that The Millers is being canceled. What a wonderful show, which has both my husband and I laugh out loud. Maybe if CBS would stop moving all the shows around to different times, they wouldn’t have troubles with ratings.
I was deeply saddened to hear that THE MILLERS television program was being cancelled. There are very few shows that I will work my schedule around so that I don’t miss them. And THE MILLERS is at the top of my short list. I just can’t see why it’s being cancelled. What a great cast & I just love Margo Martindale is incredible!! Total star quality! The chemistry within the cast is wonderful. Lots of great talent and Will Arnett and Beau Bridges and terrific!! PLEASE DON”T CANCEL THIS SHOW!!! HOW CAN WE SAVE IT FROM CANCELLATION??? <3 ; -{… Read more »
