ABC hasn’t had much luck launching a new reality show in quite some time so they tried something different this time — The Quest. Is it a ratings success? Will it be renewed for a second season or, will it be cancelled instead?
On The Quest, a dozen everyday people are transported to a fantasy world called Everealm where they have adventures and compete to be the last “true hero” remaining. The cast includes Peter Windhofer, Jan Hutter, Marcello de Nardo, Susanne Gschwendtner, Stephanie Buddenbrock, Florence Kasumba, Mai Duong Kieu, and Doug Tait.
The show debuted at the end of July to a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.82 million viewers. It was a very poor start — even for a summer series — and the numbers have gotten worse as the weeks have gone by.

The season currently averages a paltry 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.96 million viewers. That’s worse than Sing Your Face Off, a celebrity reality show that was burned off on Saturday nights in June.
To be fair, The Quest has had to compete with football games in some markets and has also been preempted by games on some local ABC stations. The ratings are still very, very low however and the network knew that the series would be interrupted when they scheduled it — a sign that they probably had no faith in it.
In the end, it’s highly unlikely that ABC will want to take a chance on ordering a second season of The Quest.
But, what do you think? Do you like The Quest TV show? Do you think it should be renewed for a second season or should it be cancelled instead?
I think the show is hokey and stupid. I only watched it because my wife, who loves fantasy, was hooked on it. One season was definitely enough unless they change the rules. The outcome was the PITS. Lina was definitely NOT the “One True Hero.” She barely made it through too many times, and the only reason she was left at the end was because Andrew sent home Patrick instead of Lina because he was afraid to compete against Patrick. There needs to be some kind of point scoring instead of this voting by the other paladins. In then end,… Read more »
Of course Lina deserved to be in the final. She and her peers followed the rules, and her peers…including Andrew…voted her through to the end. Andrew, who pulled a Christian at the very end and chose Lina because he thought she was no real threat…and lost to her. Oops. And oh by the way, she beat both Andrew and Shondo in head-to-head competition to become the One True Hero–no voting involved. She beat them, fair and square. This idea of “who deserved to be in the final” is as wrongheaded here as in “The Voice” or in any other competition… Read more »
I truly loved this show, and hope they give it another season. Its a family friendly series and it is very entertaining. I will be very sad to loose it if they do not renew it!!
I have watched EVERY episode and I don’t normally watch reality television. TQ was original and fun. I wanted to be one of the competitors.
Bring back The Quest!!
Great show! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Wasn’t sure until the end of the challenges who was going to be the one true hero. Keep me watching. Wonderful acting by the cast, great scenery and costumes. Loved Sir Ansgar. I hope if it does come back he’s still there and Crio too. Bring back. Nice to have a family show.
I don’t like reality television shows but quest keep my intrest from start to finish. It was real, no foul language, sex. Just plain reality like it was back then i pray there’s more to come. My family loved it as well.
Great show hope you will run another season.
You must give it another chance. I didn’t start watching until the last 4 episodes and wish I had started earlier. If I were younger you couldn’t keep me from being on the show.
One more season, you may see the audience grow.
This show is so good. So nice to a show that is just pure entertainment, no sex, no foul language and gives a positive reward for doing good. The whole family can enjoy this one. The acting and sets are wonderful! Keep it up! Please let it stay on the air!
THE SHOW SHOULD NOT BE CANCELED! I mean, I want to sign up!
Me, too!!
I love this show! I had to either tape it or watch it on my ABC app, but I truly enjoyed the show and I hope they don’t cancel it! There is a following of people who enjoy this variety of fantasy … So much better than the bachelor- type shows! People of all
ages can actually watch The Quest together!
This show deserves a second season in a better slot. It has heart and very high production value and is great family entertainment. KEEP THIS SHOW ON THE AIR!
It is wonderful to see a reality show such as this on Network Television. This show is truly “family-oriented”, since there are none of the aspects of the “typical” reality show, such as sniping, backstabbing, collusion, and dishonesty that we are so accustomed to on those types of reality shows. Instead, we are shown individuals who honestly care about one another and are truly collaborating to get “the one true hero” to the final episode. Most of all, they are “into it”, imagining themselves immersed in the reality that the producers have created. This translates to the audience (eg: us)… Read more »
Keep the show!!! We love it!
It is so rare these days to find a show that a family can watch together. They focus on good qualities that everyone should want to develop/find in themselves. Even though my family had already fallen in love with this show, I keep finding little things that they do that can be teachable moments for my son. The most recent was when one team completed the challenge, they were sent to help the others complete their challenge because it’s important that we all work together. In a subsequent challenge, when completed, the other contestants just went to help on their… Read more »
Love the show! This is definitely a keeper! The show needs a second season and lots of publicity. Great job by everyone involved!
