A key cast member is leaving The Rookie. TVLine reports Afton Williamson will not return for season two of the ABC TV show.
Williamson plays Talia Bishop on the comedy drama, which centers on John Nolan (Nathan Fillion), a small-town guy who pursues his dream of being an LAPD officer after a life-changing experience. The cast also includes Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Titus Makin, Mercedes Mason, and Melissa O’Neil.
It’s unclear why Williamson is parting ways with The Rookie, but Harold Perrineau is expected to fill the void left by the actress. Season two is slated to premiere on ABC on September 29th at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

Definitely-great show. Good balance of drama and humour. Looking forward tomnew season. Unfortunate that Aston Williamson is not returning.

I watched season 1, and am looking forward to season 2. I’m disappointed to hear Talia won’t be part of Season 2. I thought that character was great, and I will miss her.

Love Nathan Fillion, never missed an episode of Castle. However have not been a big fan of The Rookie. Only watch now and then.

I thought Fillion made the show interesting. Seasons 1&2 usually have to support character developement, So what happened… please consider another writer
I love the Rookie. Thanks to Hulu, I have been able to watch it over and again and catch things I may have missed first time around. It has it’s comedic moments without vulgarity and slapstick. It also has very serious and human moments. Wonderful family time show. Only thing I put on regular time to watch besides Masked Singer and Curse of Oak Island.

I watched the Rookie last season. Really enjoyed it. I will miss Nathan’s partner. They were so good together.

Fillion is supported by an outstanding cast; Diaz, Jones, Makin, O’neil & Winter are all superb at their craft! I hope Williamson & Mason the best, as they embark on new & successful trajectories!! I’m looking forward to the Rookie’s new season!!!
I loved Afton’s character and will miss her! She had wonderful chemistry with Nathan. I hope she is ok because she was tweeting positive things about The Rookie and the future of her character Bishop in May.
I will continue to watch The Rookie. I started watching it because of Nathan Fillion and I continue to watch it to see him weekly. However, I’ve enjoyed all the cast and the stories portrayed in The Rookie. It’s a great show.
We will be watching season 2. Love Nathan Fillion and the rest of the cast.
One of the reasons my husband and I like the show is ms Williamson character. She is tough. Show may lose me if the replacement isn’t tough.
