TV show description:
From creator Alexi Hawley, The Rookie TV show is an hourlong comedy-drama that centers on John Nolan (Fillion). After a life-changing experience, this small-town guy decides to do just that — change his life.
Now, John is working toward his dream of being a Los Angeles police officer. The thing is, he is the oldest rookie on the LAPD, and the brass looks at him like the embodiment of a midlife crisis.
John’s co-workers include Talia Bishop (Williamson), a new training officer, and he’s her first student. The other training officers include the high-handed Tim Bradford (Winter) and Angela Lopez (Diaz), who is shooting to become a detective trainee.
Rounding out the cast of characters are rookies Lucy Chen (O’Neil), Jackson West (Makin), Sergeant Wade Grey (Jones), and Nolan’s C.O. Zoe Andersen (Mason).
If John fails to keep up with his young colleagues, as well as young criminals, he will be putting lives at risk, including his own. Maybe though, he can use the experience he’s gained with age, and the determination he has developed over the years, to make a real go of it. Either way, he’s got a secret weapon — his sense of humor.

this show is great. don’t cancel it please. everyone on this show is great. the main Rookie John is trying to prove himself. show on 3/19/19 was very sad, showed emotions that most police officers show. the body cam shots are fantastic. wish it was on at 9pm tho. the director and producer did a great job on this show, grade A+++. the situations they face seem to be what is the realm for our society. thank you. for the actors , keep up the great work.
Don’t cancel the show, its getting better and better as the characters develop. I have to agree with a previous comment that it was too bad that Capt. Andersen was eliminated so soon. She was a down to earth character that brought a soft side but yet had a commanding presence. One of the best network cop series I’ve seen in a very long time.

The Rookie is an awesome new show which should most certainly be renewed by ABC! Nathan Fillion and the cast are wonderful and chemistry is great. Show keeps getting better each week, although I was really upset that Capt. Andersen was killed off (Please bring her back! maybe she had a twin sister!!) or something creative. I as other viewers have stated, it would have been a great storyline to develop a relationship with her & Nolan! Love the Rookie! I would possible place it in better time slot however to gain additional viewers!

I really hope this show doesn’t get canned. I like the shows premise and actors. It may need to be renamed however since “The Rookie” won’t be one one anymore.
I can’t believe you killed off the Captain. I thought she brought a lot to the show. Still love the show though.
Please don’t cancel The Rookie. It’s one of the few programs that has all the elements that makes a very good tv program like life related situations and also real life actions. Not boring. Decent.
Please don’t cancel the show. Television needs more family friendly shows and The Rookie meets that need.

We look forward to “family hour” – spent with The Rookie. Great theme, fantastic chemistry and rrreally good acting…..I may not want to ever watch anything again on ABC if they do NOT renew this series. Makes police viewed in a much better light; keep up the good work and thank you ABC for their writers. One of the best shows on the air!

This show is excellent. I have not looked forward to watching a television show each week like I do this one. I really like all the characters and the acting is believable.
