Harry and Helen won’t return to work for the 2023-24 broadcast season. The True Lies TV show has been cancelled so that viewers won’t see a second year on CBS.
An action series based on the 1994 movie, the True Lies TV show stars Ginger Gonzaga, Steve Howey, Erica Hernandez, Omar Miller, Mike O’Gorman, Annabella Didion, and Lucas Jaye. The story follows Harry Tasker (Howey), a bland and unremarkable computer consultant husband who is secretly a first-class international spy for Omega Sector. His wife, Helen (Gonzaga) is a language professor bored with her daily routine. One day, she makes the shocking discovery that her seemingly ordinary husband is leading an extraordinary double life. With the secret out, his agency recruits her and she impresses everyone with her formidable skills (thanks partly to Tae Bo and yoga). Working together with Harry’s team, the couple adds much-needed sizzle to their emotionally distant marriage and upends the top-secret world of Omega Sector.
Airing on Wednesday nights, the first season of True Lies averages a 0.24 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.61 million viewers. It’s the network’s lowest-rated scripted show and, other than 48 Hours (which airs late on Saturday nights), it’s CBS’ lowest-rated show overall. In the live+7 day ratings, True Lies picks up nearly 70% more viewers. Even with that boost, it’s still one of the network’s lowest-rated scripted shows.
The show’s chances of survival were also hurt because the series is produced by 20th Television, an outside studio.
The final two episodes air on May 17th. Here’s a description of the de facto series finale, “Waking Dreams”: The entire agency searches for clues with an Omega Sector spy missing. Harry and Helen’s relationship with each other, their team, and reality itself, is tested in unimaginable ways, even for the best of spies and spouses.
East New York, another freshman drama series from an outside studio, was also cancelled today. Meanwhile, SWAT was revived.

finally a show that both my husband & I enjoyed .. we are over (way over) 21 and found this show fun to watch… Please please don’t cancel!! Steve Howie is perfect in this role, love the bnter between the agents — just all-round a good show!!!
I like True Lies. It is light and spicy with a great cast and good story lines without the terrible language and gor. I hate that it was cancelled
I’m so disappointed that true lies is canceled, I really hope they change they’re mine.
When I watched the first episode, I was disappointed. I unfortunately compared it to the movie. It was far from it. I’m not surprised it was cancelled. I would recommend you see the movie & then you’ll know what I’m talking about.
Please find someone to pick up this show. Totally enjoyed this. So sad that it has been cancelled. And with a cliffhanger??? I thought sure it would be in next season. Maybe one of the streaming services can pick it up. It definitely needs a second chance. Very disappointing.
This series wasn’t good I’m not surprised it was canceled, it wasn’t the cast, it was the writing. The cast preformed well, it’s too bad the writers messed up. I was really looking forward to watching it but after a few episodes, I could see it wasn’t about the intrigue of the international spy world but about the spy and his wife’s relationship but I kept watching, hoping it would get better but it didn’t
We finally found a decent, fun and purely entertaining show with no political agenda and it gets cancelled. Let’s face it, younger people don’t watch tv anymore. They stream everything. So someone PLEASE take over this show and keep it on air!
Please do not take True lies. It’s a great show. I am over 49 and our vote doesn’t count. Please listen to us older folks. We love the show and want it to stay on.
I want to like the show but the casting is horrible. Gib is Good. The rest are dreadful. Whoever did the castingnkilled this show.
Cancel Swat and keep True Lies any day of the week.
True lies has been fun. Started slowly but good characters.
Well I loved this show!! It is FUN to watch the high jinks! A great change of pace! I should have known to not get too fond of a show that was different and amusing! Instead of gory serial killer blood everywhere! Disappointed by CBS and this decision!

I finally found a tv show that I really liked and there doesn’t seem to be very many that are good. Don’t cancel a good show.
The show was great please somebody pick it up I like it funny and action it reminds me of the movie Mr And Mrs Smith cbs please don’t be abc and cancel everything that’s good give another season.
