Tonight marks the last scheduled episode of low-rated Undercovers. NBC has 13 installments of the cancelled TV show but only scheduled 11 of them. There’s no word on when or if the other two will see the light of day. So, what are fans missing?
Undercovers co-creator and executive producer Josh Reims told Blastr back in October that, “The main direction that we’re headed in the overall scheme of things is we have some mythology that’s starting to play out in the show now which will get larger and larger as we go along.”
Reims continued, “We find out in episode 12 or 13, I can’t remember which, the real reason that Steven and Samantha were actually brought back to the CIA. And it’s not just to save Leo, who was their friend. There’s much more involved in that.” Based on episode titles, it would seem that number 13, “The Reason,” holds the big secret. Episode 12 is titled “Dark Cover.”
Reims added, “There’s stuff that Carlton Shaw [Gerald McRaney] doesn’t know. He was left out of the loop by his boss. So everybody is sort of thrown for a loop near the end of the season and readjusting to what things are, as opposed to what they thought they were.” Shaw’s boss, James Kelvin (Alan Dale from Lost) was just introduced.
Of the Undercovers cancellation, Reims told Zap2It, “I’m really proud of the show. I thought it looked amazing and I loved working with the cast and crew. We had a lot of fun.” He added, “The show turned out pretty much the way I envisioned, and when it didn’t, it was actually better.” Reims admitted that the show just couldn’t attract a big enough audience to survive.
Whether the final two installments are aired or not, the last episode of Undercovers will leave fans up in the air. Reims noted, “I think the episodes are getting stronger every week, and I’m sorry we have to stop at 13, because we had so many more stories to tell with these people. Not to mention we have a great mythology arc… and [it] ends with a cliffhanger.”
NBC hasn’t announced any plans to release the remaining episodes of Undercovers.
What do you think? Will NBC ever air the last two episodes? How would you like to see the series end?

I am sorry that the show is being cancelled. With all of this reality tv today I can not understand why they are so popular, I know that it is based on taste. If you would please consider letting the show continue, the show does offer something that is not full of profanity and people jumping from bed to bed. I like the fact that they love each other and are able to communicate with each other , which is something that is in short supply today. Well that is all that I have. In my closing I ask that… Read more »
This is a travisty, a very good show, very balance, maybe we can plead with the network and do what Chuck fands did a couple of years ago.
I love this show very dissapointed about the cancellation! I really enjoyed this one its a shame.
I LOVED THIS SHOW. I LOOKED FORWARD TO MY WEDNESDAY, so I can watch the Undercovers. Please air the last two eposides and beef the marketing of the show next season that might help with the ratings.
Dang!! I really enjoyed watching Undercovers especially Boris. The main characters were beautiful, smart and not to mention happily married. How often do you see that on TV (Hart to Hart maybe)? The story lines were good. It was nice to be able to watch something other than stupid reality and murder investigation shows. I’m guessing that the network really canceled the show because it did not have all of its characters swinging partners ’round and ’round and getting busy in supply closets. Give us a break please and bring it back!!
It’s only fair to the faithful fans to air the last two shows!
I really enjoyed the show, hope it doesn’t end. Is it ending because the lead actors are black. If it is the reason that’s a shame! It had a very interesting storyline.
WHY???? I LOVE this show & yes why do they ALWAYS cancel the great shows before even giving it a chance. There’s so much crap tv on, why can’t we have at least ONE GREAT Show to look forward to!!!!
i sure hope they air them. i am fuming right now to find out that it has been cancelled this is one of my favorite tv shows that i watch.
Actually, I was bored last week — the 29th I believe — since all the shows took breaks for the new year, and saw that there was a new episode on. So I was very happy to watch it. I really liked the actors and the characters. It’s a shame the show never got a chance.
I liked the show it’s just a pity that the ratings are not GOOD. The network should at least give the show its dignity and some respect, and air the remaining two episodes ASAP !!!
This show is much better than all the so called reality shows on the air these days. Some one actually writing scripts that do something. We need more shows like Undercovers instead of cancelling them.
How do the networks know how is actually watching the show and who is not? Undercover Boss was an exciting show and once again something different why would they cancel this show.
I love the show and really like the two black actors! They’re classy & have good chemistry! Why, oh, why do you always cancel the good shows? If we can’t keep it, for heavens sake, air the last two episodes!
renew the show we need to see good shows like this on TV. If not cable wins again!!!!!
