Tonight marks the last scheduled episode of low-rated Undercovers. NBC has 13 installments of the cancelled TV show but only scheduled 11 of them. There’s no word on when or if the other two will see the light of day. So, what are fans missing?
Undercovers co-creator and executive producer Josh Reims told Blastr back in October that, “The main direction that we’re headed in the overall scheme of things is we have some mythology that’s starting to play out in the show now which will get larger and larger as we go along.”
Reims continued, “We find out in episode 12 or 13, I can’t remember which, the real reason that Steven and Samantha were actually brought back to the CIA. And it’s not just to save Leo, who was their friend. There’s much more involved in that.” Based on episode titles, it would seem that number 13, “The Reason,” holds the big secret. Episode 12 is titled “Dark Cover.”
Reims added, “There’s stuff that Carlton Shaw [Gerald McRaney] doesn’t know. He was left out of the loop by his boss. So everybody is sort of thrown for a loop near the end of the season and readjusting to what things are, as opposed to what they thought they were.” Shaw’s boss, James Kelvin (Alan Dale from Lost) was just introduced.
Of the Undercovers cancellation, Reims told Zap2It, “I’m really proud of the show. I thought it looked amazing and I loved working with the cast and crew. We had a lot of fun.” He added, “The show turned out pretty much the way I envisioned, and when it didn’t, it was actually better.” Reims admitted that the show just couldn’t attract a big enough audience to survive.
Whether the final two installments are aired or not, the last episode of Undercovers will leave fans up in the air. Reims noted, “I think the episodes are getting stronger every week, and I’m sorry we have to stop at 13, because we had so many more stories to tell with these people. Not to mention we have a great mythology arc… and [it] ends with a cliffhanger.”
NBC hasn’t announced any plans to release the remaining episodes of Undercovers.
What do you think? Will NBC ever air the last two episodes? How would you like to see the series end?

It shouldn’t end! These so called television executives don’t give the shows enough time to develop a following, if it’s not in the top five network programs in a month they think it’s not good enough. In the last two years several of my favorite shows have been canceled including the two longest running soap operas it stinks. These television executives wonder why people keep going to the cable networks I think it’s because of the constant cancellations. Give these shows more time you network executives you may be canceling some real good winners!
I loved this show! The cast did a great job and was nice to look at. I loved the places they went and all the beautiful clothes. I will greatly miss it. This is the first review I have ever given on a TV show so you know I must really like it.
I truly enjoyed this series and hope that it will be brught bck soon.
they say there are not enough people watching can they actually monitor how many of us that use satellite tv record the show to watch later . this was such a good show and very interesting it kept your brain alive and vibrant . no extra marital sex no adult situations no homosexual plots nothing but good good enjoyment. if it were not for harrys law with kathy bates I would not even watch nbc no wonder abc and cbs get so many good ratings when they have a good clean show they keep it. I truly hope that they… Read more »
I really don’t understand why ABC keeps stupid game & “reality” unreality shows but cancels such a smart, interesting, classy show as Undercovers. I looked forward to it. Please re-think this decision. If not, maybe another smarter station will!
Re think this decision!! Stupid move!!!
NBC what is really going on? Why do u cancel every good black show? Seems like u don’t want a show with African American stars to thrive! Every time one some along with e cellent actors, excellent plot and storylines, u put them in a bad time slot and cancel them ! It was a great show! The characters had really good chemistry together! Evan Rainey was good! please change the time and at least allow us to see the remaining episodes!
I am very disappointed! I thought the cast blended together wonderfully, The stories kept my attention. looked for the return every week. Someone ought to rethink this decision.
I don’t watch Television Shows, but I never missed an Undercovers Episode, I was Hooked on it the very first time I saw it. The first time I saw Samantha the show became must see TV for me. She is Drop Dead Gorgeous! I thought the show was very hip, had a nice balance of intriguing story lines, action and sexiness and the Jewish Dude was very funny. With the Garbage that is on Television Today, why in the World would any Executive in their Right Mind Cancel this Series. CBS is Takes this Show of and Replaces it with… Read more »
i agree with the flash forward Nicole. My wife and i got hooked on Undercovers and are very sad to see it go. With so many tv shows getting canceled mid season or after one season it is almost not worth it to watch any new show. Better to just wait after it has gone for a year and gets picked back up and then watch the full season to catch up. That way you are not disappointed when every show you watch gets canceled. We are getting frustrated and are about to just give up watching any new show.
No more undercovers!!!If anyone at BET or Own is listening please bring it back.
Also, if SYFY needs a good show pick back up FlashForward. Don’t even get me started on Rubicon. I can’t believe I’ve been left hanging twice.
I thoroughly enjoyed the show! What a disappointment to see it get cancelled!!!
Please bring it back on another network maybe? I know I looked forward to each episode.
I don’t know if the stats still stand but I remember seeing a while back commercials for CBS and how they were the most watched Television Station in America..I now know why, with Stations like these canceling great shows who wants to watch them
we loved the show – hope they release the remaining 2010 episodes and restart it sometime this year
I am 88 years old and Undercovers was the only spy show that ever attracted my attention. All the reality, etc shows are not my cup of tea. Just looking at those two beautiful people made my day.
Undercovers was a really entertaining show. There is so little worth looking at on TV. Every Wednesday at 8PM I tuned in to Undercovers. I enjoyed the cast and the stories. My friends and I would call each other and say ” it’s time to watch the beautiful people”. It was so enjoyable to watch those two people together, along with the rest of the cast , they were great to look at , smart and the stories were interesting. Why is it that the garbage that the stations are showing now continue, while something like Undercovers is taken off… Read more »
