The points still don’t count but the episodes keep piling up. The CW has quietly renewed the venerable Whose Line Is It Anyway? TV series for an 18th season (the ninth season on CW).
Whose Line Is It Anyway? is hosted by Aisha Tyler and each episode typically features Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady, Colin Mochrie, and a guest performer. The foursome tests their comedic reflexes by participating in a series of spontaneous improv games. After each round, Aisha will dole out points to the performers and declare a winner at the end of every episode (not that the points matter). Guests in season 17 (the ninth on The CW) include Jeff Davis, Jonathan Mangum, and Gary Anthony Williams.
The 17th season of Whose Line Is It Anyway? averages a 0.15 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 858,000 viewers in the live+same day ratings. Compared to season 16, that’s down by 27% in the demo and down by 9% in viewership.
The venerable sketch comedy show will return for its 18th season on Saturday, October 9th with two new episodes. The series and World’s Funniest Animals will be the first CW shows to air on Saturday nights in the network’s 15-year history. In past years, the local affiliate stations programmed that night’s schedule.
What do you think? Are you a fan of the Whose Line Is It Anyway? TV show on The CW? Do you plan to watch season 18 of this comedy series on Saturday nights?
Nothing funnier than improv. Keep the comedy comimg.
Better than the other garbage they call entertainment. Please keep it going and maybe increase it!!!!!

So happy to see new episodes. Watch reruns all the time. Even those make me laugh but am excited for some new shows!
I agree! I watch You Tube of their shows a lot!!! LOVE this show!!
Oh, I’m so glad the show is returning, I used to work all the time (2) jobs until stricken with illness. Never used to watch comedy until I came upon this show late late one night. Now it is returning with all the stars. My nights are happy again.
I’m so desperate for this show to return that I’ve taken to watching old shows on youtube. I’m elated it’s returning.
I love this show. I’m glad to see it’s been renewed.
Please don’t cancel this show. We love it so much. The funniest show ever!
Love this show, I don’t watch comedy very often. This crew can make me laugh. Will watch it where ever they schedule it.
Best show on tv, when you can find it. Laugh like he’ll when they do the John Wayne character impersonation. Will watch it anytime they air it.
Best show on TV. Period.
We’re big fans of this show & will watch it regardless what day it’s aired.
I agree with Joe Siegler, hoping they film more new episodes & hope for a longer season than S17/S09 was.
I hope they’ll bring back Charles ‘Chip’ Esten as a guest performer. He’s a great addition to the show!
And PLEASE give Ryan the animal characters again, such as in the Dating Game. He’s AMAZING playing them! Loved him as the scared gazelle during hunting season! LOL
Without a doubt. One of my most favorite shows.
Hopefully they film some new episodes. Season 17 (and most of 16 as well) were made up from leftover clips from previous tapings. It showed in places.
About time they film a new batch of stuff.
Covid, it wasn’t their fault, they probably weren’t allowed to film in 2020, so what aired earlier this year was ‘cutting room floor’ stuff from 2019 tapings
They went way further back than that. They used Nyima Funk clips. She hasn’t filmed in YEARS. Oh sure Covid had something to do with it. But not all of it
