The dance is over at the peacock network. Though the show saw some growth in viewership during the pandemic, NBC has cancelled the World of Dance TV show. There won’t be a fifth season.
A dance competition series, World of Dance is hosted by Scott Evans, with Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough, and NE-YO judging the performances. The series showcases elite solo dancers, partners, and full dance crews compete against each other in multiple categories of dance, including hip-hop, tap, ballet, break dancing, ballroom dancing, and stomping. The winner(s) receive a life-altering grand prize of $1,000,000 and the title of best dancer in the world.
Airing on Tuesday nights, the fourth season of World of Dance averaged a 0.74 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.01 million viewers. Compared to season three, that’s down by 12% in the demo and up by 9% in viewership.
The fourth season aired for 12 episodes between May and August of 2020. Deadline first reported the cancellation news.

I am so disappointed! I looked forward to watching this. I really wish that they would reconsider their decision. 4.01 million viewers obviously tuned in and enjoyed the show. I didn’t care for the format of last season but, all shows have had to adjust due to the pandemic.

I loved the show. Didn’t like last seasons set up though. Wish it was on and back to original format.
Outrageous! This is a great way to showcase wonderful dancers. The network would rather show stupidity and fantasy than good programming. No wonder people are cutting the cord and not watching networks any more.
Another great show cancelled. Big deal if it went diwn in ratings. A lot of us still watched it. I don’t understand
I’m really disappointed that they are cancelling this show. I love JLO anything she does. When they first started this I was so excited about this new show. I love dance competitions an I loved seeing all the different people an groups from around the world competing. This was an excellent show which I looked forward to watching every week. Such a shame that the arts are the first shows to get canceled instead of all the reality trash they constantly renew. Seems schools would benefit showing this show to students to motivate and encourage positivity in this world.
Yes I would have watched Season 5! I love this show. Hopefully it may get picked up again when the world gets back to normal.
I really enjoyed this show and looked forward to it every week. I get so frustrated with the networks taking off good, entertaining shows and putting some silly comedy that ends up being almost sickening to watch. NBC just lost a viewer.
It is a shame that all the great shows get canceled. World of Dance had exceptional talent worldwide. This is not a flowery show this is all talent! PLEASE listens to your fans of the show and put it back on and take some of the not so good shows off. I have watched it since the beginning & this is a big disappointment. PLEASE listen to the fans & renew World of Dance!!!!!

I love this show and am so disappointed that it’s canceled. Watching wonderful dancers from all over the world and the competition was so great. The judges all worked well together. Such a bad decision to cancel this show. I would have watched it for all the seasons there would be.
World of Dance gave the audience a chance to see some very talented dancers from all over the world. My wife and i looked forward to watching the show and we are very disappointed that it has been canceled
This was a wonderful show that I never missed!! The judges were great together. I don’t consider NBC to bright on what they keep and what they dump. I am a senior citizen and so enjoyed everything about this show!!
While I didn’t watch it, it seems like a weird decision considering every show that aired last summer rated worse than it and they were renewed.
It only averaged 3.69 for season 3 down from 5.7 (2nd) and 7.7 (1st), so season 4 was it’s last chance and should have done better then 4 with people home because of Covid.
Not many shows aired last summer because the pandemic shut down production. World of Dance finished production in March when the pandemic started. Even FOX not brining back So You Think You Can Dance this summer, but it’s not cancelled
