TV show description:
A drama series, the Alaska Daily TV show was created by Tom McCarthy and is based on a real case.
In the story, Eileen Fitzgerald (Swank) is an award-winning investigative journalist and high-powered newspaper reporter in New York. Her reporting methods and abrasive personality are questioned after a high-profile story blows up in her face, and Eileen loses her job.
Her former mentor, Stanley Cornik (Perry), approaches her about making a big move, and she goes to work for a struggling, downsized Anchorage newspaper, the Daily Alaskan.
The skeleton crew in her new workplace includes Bob Young (Malloy), Claire Muncy (Holzman), Gabriel Tovar (Castelblanco), Yuna Park (Park), and Austin Teague (Frank).
Grudgingly, Eileen teams up with a young local reporter named Roz Friendly (Dove). Together, they begin investigating the murders of a group of indigenous women. There’s a pattern to the killings that has gone mostly ignored by the local police force.
Eileen is on a journey to find personal and professional redemption in a new locale, across the country, and in a very different world.
Episode #11 — Most Reckless Thing I’ve Ever Done
With rumors of a new Alaskan newspaper swirling, the team investigates their competition and what it means for the future of local news. Meanwhile, Eileen and Roz listen to Gloria’s final call and find their lead before an innocent man is put away.

This show has great characters, acting, and writing. I was comfortable watching after one episode. It should be renewed.

Alaskian Daily should go on. My family is wrapped into this program. Possibly one reason the show has low ratings is because of the time of day it airs. Anyone who watches the first 3 episodes is hooked.

Surprisingly, not only is this show great entertainment but it also provides great insight. Few shows grab my undivided attention like this one. I surely hope the show gets renewed for more seasons.

I really enjoy this program. Hillary Swank plays her role well as a snarky and passionate journalist. As always, she never lets the viewer down. I commend her for being a fine, seasoned actress, truly in everything she does. I also commend all the other actors for the exceptional acting they bring to this show also. The topics of their journalistic investigation are such real issues and expose the needed awareness in actual real living events. A great different show that makes the audience think and the sub theme of missing indigineous women is unusual but needed. Good supporting cast. aABC needed to promote it more.

I adored the series, too, and am really bummed that it got cancelled. But please, people, take care how you spell words like “indigenous.” It’s not that difficult, and I’m sure you wouldn’t like to be referred to as, say, “Amarecians.”

This is the best new show for a long time. I love that it is news reporting instead of a new medical or cop show. All the actors are top notch and the story plot is interesting with great scenery.
Oh this show is thrilling, edgy and top notch all the way……..I just love this show and HS is fabulous in it as is GD, both ladies work so well together. This is a keeper please don’ t screw up ABC
