Today marked the return of All My Children and One Life To Live and it seems that, at least initially, the revived soap operas are a success.
Within hours of their first new episodes being released, both All My Children and One Life To Live became two of the most watched videos on Hulu and most downloaded on iTunes. That’s impressive but obviously the real test will be to see how many people come back four times a week and if this model will be enough to sustain production.
Both of the soaps look different than their ABC versions with both new and familiar faces on-screen. All My Children made a five year jump into the future (which came with some recasting) while One Life to Live has moved forward about six months since the last ABC installment.
What do you think? What’s your reaction? What do you like or dislike about the new versions? Will you keep watching? Are you glad that they’re back?
I am so happy AMC is back. Watching on hulu is simple. I hope ABC goes down. As you see most of their shows are cancelled within few weeks. Big mistake cancelling a beloved soap that I started watching in my 20’s and forty years later still watching it. How about that ABC, what show do you have that has been around so long. Looser
I don’t have hulu so I guess I am out of luck.
you would have to be a fool, not to like them….they are better than ever….LOVE THEM BOTH….Thanks to Prospect Park. ABC is dumb for dropping them, and now their going to bite them in the butt….
I don’t watch soaps, but Kelly Missal is hot. She needs to be moved to primetime ASAP.
