It appears that FOX is finished with the network’s current Wednesday night series — Almost Family and Flirty Dancing. While the shows haven’t been officially cancelled (few shows are), their ratings have been very low and now, both series are being pulled from the schedule.
A scripted drama, Almost Family stars Brittany Snow, Tim Hutton, Megalyn Echikunwoke, Emily Osment, Mo McRae, Mustafa Elzein, and Victoria Cartagena. In the series, Julia Bechley (Snow) is an adult only child who has her world turned upside down. She learns that her father, Doctor Leon Benchley (Hutton), a pioneer in fertility, secretly used his own sperm to father over a hundred children. While still reeling from this revelation, Julia discovers that she has two new half-sisters — her former best friend, Edie Palmer (Echikunwoke), and ex-Olympic athlete Roxy Doyle (Osment).
A dating series, Flirty Dancing is hosted by actress and dancer Jenna Dewan. In the show, complete strangers are each taught half of a dance routine. They then meet for the first time on a blind date at a breathtaking location, where they dance together without saying a word. Will there be an unspoken connection and chemistry?
Almost Family launched in October 2019 while Flirty Dancing just began airing in late December. Both have struggled in the ratings. Almost Family’s been averaging a 0.49 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.71 million viewers. The most recent installment drew a 0.30 in the demo with just over a million viewers. Meanwhile, Flirty Dancing debuted on a Sunday night and received a nice ratings boost from the preceding NFL game. The ratings saw a big tumble in subsequent episodes however and this week’s installment drew a 0.30 demo with 1.38 million.
FOX has decided to pull both programs after next Wednesday’s episodes. On January 22nd, they’ll be replaced by a rerun of the two-hour premiere of new drama 9-1-1: Lone Star (it launches January 19th). On January 29th, FOX will fill the timeslots with reruns of Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back, Last Man Standing, and new sitcom Outmatched (it debuts January 23rd).
The network will wrap up Flirty Dancing with the final two episodes of the season (or series) airing on Saturday, January 25th. Here’s the description:

Two singles will perform a different choreographed dance with each of two potential love interests, before choosing the one with whom he/she has the strongest connection in the all-new “Episode 5: Alex & Navi / Episode 6: Khairi & Ashlee” two-hour season finale episode of FLIRTY DANCING airing Saturday, Jan. 25 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Fans of Almost Family will have to wait even longer for the season (likely series) finale episodes of that show. FOX won’t be airing the two episodes until Saturday, February 22nd.

Its great because of the human interaction that people have in an instant with a dance! Jenna Dewan was great as the host of the show! I would pay to see another season!
I watched every episode of Flirty Dancing and loved them and now I’m finding out it’s not coming back???? THAT SUCKS! I waited for it to come on and even had my daughter watching it too! I just thought it was an awesome show…. So disappointing.
I had just seen flirty dancing and loved it and we started telling other people about it they looked at it and loved it also we hate that it was poured off the air because this is something we could really enjoy and people have not had a chance to even know it was on the air but now they are beginning to actually realize that it is on the air , and they like it please let it come back .
We loved watching flirty dancing! ! Please put it back on .It was a very new and exciting concept ! You really didn’t give it a Good Chance! Most people didn’t even know it was on ! I think You Should Give It Another Chance for More than 5 or 6 episode’s! Please Reconsider! !!!
I love both shows! They’re both something new and fresh, I think they both should stay! Almost famine is something that is truly something that is with the times especially with all the DNA tests out there! And flirting dancing is in a league all it’s own there’s truly nothing else like it! Please don’t cancel them! Sometimes I don’t think you people know good shows when they hit you in the face!

Loved Flirty Dancing, so disappointed that it’s questionable about coming back on…. One suggestion, we felt it unfair that they had one dance more touchey feely then the other, which was more fun then flirty. So either have them dance the same dance or the same type of dance! That’s if we ever see Flirty Dancing again.

I enjoy watching both shows. I’m hoping FOX will be keeping them. If they’re not then hopefully another network or streaming app will pick them up. I’m eagerly awaiting a final decision.

I love Flirty Dancing and Almost Family. I watch both shows each week and love both shows!! I hope FOX brings both shows back. They are both great shows!! FOX finally had two great shows and they took them off, I now watch FOX less because of it.
Please dont cancel flirty dancing! Nice clean show. I looked forward to watching alot, its 1 of the few shows I can actually stand watching!
