TV show description:
From creator Aaron Martin, the Another Life TV show is a science-fiction drama. The series centers on Niko Breckinridge (Sackhoff), an astronaut on a quest for alien intelligence.
As commander of the Salvare space exploration ship, Niko leads her young crew to discover the origins of an alien artifact, which has been sending signals to Pi Canis Majoris. A hothead, Ian Yerxa (Hoechlin) is a former commander, who lost the post to her.
As Niko’s courageous right hand, the principled Cas Isakovic (Ludlow) is a steadfast ally. Also part of the crew is William (Anderson), a holographic interface of a sentient Artificial Intelligence (AI) entity. William is far more advanced than a robot. He is more of a new life form and is able to tap into humanity’s collective knowledge.
Niko is married to scientist Erik Wallace (Chatwin), a member of the body dedicated to seeking out intelligent life in the universe — United States Interstellar Command. He gets the news that Niko has been called up for duty, just as they and their young daughter, Jana (Renna), are set to move.
The Salvare’s mission is supposed to be six months long may. Fraught with danger as it is, it may well turn out to be a one-way trip.
Episode #20 — D-Day
As the Achaia close in, the crew moves quickly to create a new weapon and save Earth. The time has come for the heroic to make the ultimate sacrifice.
First aired: October 14, 2021.
What do you think? Do you like the Another Life TV series? Should this Netflix TV show have been cancelled or renewed for a third season?
The fact that this show hasn’t been canceled is a sign of our impending doom. Sending the cast of DeGrasse into space… there are apparently lots of people who think this was a good idea, that’s just utterly mind boggling. This show’s only redeeming characteristic is that it may someday be ruthlessly made fun of in a Mystery Science Theater type of situation. The fact that there’s an audience who enjoys this show unironically is further proof that we don’t deserve to make it off Earth, our species is just too god damn stupid.
good show. the two story lines, one in space, one on earth makes an interesting mix. Waiting for more.
lol are you serious?
The plot is terrible 🙁
Too sad for some actors that tried to justify their characters and stupid script 🙁
This show is not good. I felt like I was watching The Young And The Restless except in outer space. The dialog is absurd and the characters are no where close to being believable astronauts. I guess if you enjoy soap operas then you might enjoy this . If you are looking for something more than poorly written adolescent bickering, skip this show.
Started slow but gained interest as series continued. Waiting for next season.
What an amazing series! They have to continue please !
They are the worst astronauts I have ever seen. They do improve a little bit as the show progresses. Those 20 something “astronauts” argue about trivial personal stuff. Crew discipline is horrible. These themes distract from the major problem at hand ..hostile aliens etc. I enjoyed watching it and hope a 2d season is coming.
I would like to see where this is going to go. The last episode left me believing there isn’t any hope for the human race though. I would like us to win but with an enemy this formidable I’m not sure we can win. One thing that upset me was the similarity to the book “the host” in relationship to the alien itself.
I would love to see season 2 come out season one was great I enjoyed it
Drop it.. It’s pathetic!
I know it isn’t perfect but I still loved it! How can anything be unique in science fiction? Isn’t that asking too much? Great characters, plot and enough suspense to really keep my attention! Hell I would have finished the ten episodes if it wasn’t almost two in am with two to go! Like other half finished series hopefully they will not stop but continue and finish this one.
I watched the first episode so far. It’s hard to get I to it. They sped up all the events that led up to her leading a crew to investigate this alien force thing. I just don’t like that suddenly this thing shows up and then two months later then head up into space to investigate.
Characters are too “Hollywood” for the roles they play.
Had high hopes for the show, they disappeared fast.
No astronaut would ever dress or act like them.
Waiting for the Expanse to return.
Now the Expanse IS truly worth waiting for
It’s good that Katee & Justin’s characters are going to remain on different planets – they’re definitely an odd couple. I’m going on Episode 5 now, so there’s quite a bit to go, there’s room for improvement and perhaps by the end of this season, it will be a little tighter. It does come off as a shame that this future has not only done away with rank and uniforms – although they have a captain and EO…I don’t know – it’s like a group of disrespectful misfits with questionable hygiene and fashion choices are the ones chosen as the… Read more »
Justin Chatwin is cast as Katee Sackhoff’s husband? Strike 1 – that relationship is not believable. Lose the man purse, Justin. “That was before DC was below water.” Strike 2 – even CNN doesn’t believe that is going to happen (less than two months ago they opened their new HQ…on the waterfront in Hudson Bay). “Who’s uncomfortable? Come on – honesty.” Strike 3 – who wrote that “dialogue”? Whoever did has never been in a critical leadership position. The next line should have been, “Suck it up and get over it.” I really enjoy Katee and she is absolutely believable… Read more »
