What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the WGN America cable channel, Carter stars Jerry O’Connell, Sydney Poitier Heartsong, Kristian Bruun, Brenda Kamino, and Lyriq Bent. The series revolves around Harley Carter (O’Connell), the star of a hit detective TV show who decides he needs a break from Hollywood. Carter returns to his small hometown where he quickly discovers that his years of playing a fictional detective come in handy when he finds himself immersed in real-life mysteries. In season two, Carter puts down roots as a celebrity Private Investigator and doubles down on his fame in a world where life continues to imitate TV. Carter discovers that the toughest cases to solve are personal ones when he finds himself embroiled in a love triangle with his lifelong best friend, Detective Sam Shaw (Poitier), and her interim police chief boss, Joyce Boyle (Bent).

Will WGN America cancel or renew Carter for season three? Though the Carter TV show is identified as a “WGN America Original” series, it originates in Canada on the CTV Drama Channel. While WGNA’s ratings may not directly impact the show’s future, solid ratings could ensure that the channel keeps licensing Carter which would, in turn, defray some of the production costs. I had not heard of this series but saw a marathon so I recorded it. I think it needed more publicity. I would love to see it renewed
It frustrating to get hooked on a show and it doesn’t come back. It wouldn’t be that bad if they at least finished it off.
Have to renew Carter. Jerry o connell is funny and kwirky. He makes the show. Good plots without graphic violence or weird stories.
Hope it gets renewed for season 3.
Really like this show, it’s funny and entertaining and not nasty, just saw it on Hallmark, and I’m sure they are many new viewers for the show because of Hallmark
This is such a great show! Jerry O’Connell is so funny in this show and I love the team. I can’t believe it’s been cancelled. Why are all the goods ones cancelled too soon? We need fun shows like this to laugh at. Bring it back!!!!!!!!! And why can’t we get it on dvd?
I love this series! I haven’t had so much fun since the original 11 seasons of Frasier. Yes, bring it back for six more seasons or more. We need some feel good back in tv and streaming.
