TV show description:
This gritty medical drama revolves around an Emergency Room in Los Angeles where underfunding and understaffing pile huge pressure on its staff. A “code black” is issued when the ER no longer has the manpower, capacity or equipment to operate effectively.
Doctor Leanne Rorish (Marcia Gay Harden) is the ER Residency Director. She’s a brilliant doctor and an experienced professional who often has to resort to her intuition as opposed to standard medical procedures in order to save lives. She reminds her staff that life is measured in split seconds and a moment of hesitation can be the difference between life and death.
On the flip side to Leanne’s risk-taking is Doctor Neal Hudson (Raza Jaffrey) who is constantly at odds with her cavalier attitude.
Leanne’s confidante is Senior Nurse Jesse Salander (Luis Guzman) who’s seen it all at the country’s most notorious ER. His job is to manage the residents. Like the other technicians, doctors and nurses, he is facing a daily battle to save lives under immense pressure.
Mario Savetti (Benjamin Hollingsworth), Christa Lorenson (Bonnie Somerville), Angus Leighton (Harry Ford) and Malaya Pineda (Melanie Chandra) are all first-year residents coming to terms with the harsh realities of their chosen profession.
Episode #47 — Business of Saving Lives
Angels Memorial descends into chaos when a plane crashes into the eighth floor. Also, it is up to Mario to save Noa’s life when she has a car accident. In addition, Willis admits to Rox that he needs her in his life, and the doctors gather in court to support Leanne for her custody hearing.
First aired: July 18. 2018.
What do you think? Do you like the Code Black TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for season four on CBS?
I wish u would reverse your decision on canceling this show. I enjoyed all the actors and would like to continue watching more episodes. I even have it scheduled on my TV So I don’t miss any episodes please reconsider the cancellation. This is a very good show
Gritty drama, excellent writing and fabulous acting and you cancel it??? But you keep garbage like Big Brother on your schedule? Despite moving Code Black’s schedule all over and airing it in the off-season, it still has a huge following and deserves to be back on your schedule. CBS please rethink this!!
Very upset to hear Code Black has been cancelled. Finally had a good show in which you could relate to the characters, follow the story lines and not get lost in all the garbage some shows try to pack into an hour. Going to miss it!
Still waiting for a possibility of more code black. You didnt five it a chance. Timeslot change, full season in the “off season” any possible way to breath life into one of the best original medical drama series to come along in a very long time. Please reconsider!
I LOVE this show!!!! I am so upset it’s being cancelled. It is so good I don’t understand their decision to cancel it.
I am so very sad to hear Code Black is cancelled. One of the best shows on TV. So much garbage TV on these days. Bring it back.
So sad to find out the show was cancelled. One of the best hospital dramas on TV.
VERY sad Code Black has been cancelled! Well developed characters and real-life drama made for a great TV show.
What in the world? Cancelled? The best show on TV. I hope the producers re-think their decision.
Here in Scotland in the UK WE pay for a tv licence most of the time no change that all the time I grudge paying it but to watch shows like code black I would pay double
Very good show. I enjoyed it immensely. It should not have been cancelled!
I was so moved too tears when they stopped this show here in Scotland it made my day after work just to put my feet up and enjoy
One of the best shows on TV. I should have never been cancelled. I never missed it.
Bring it back
I’m not happy that Code Black has finished but at least they brought it to a conclusion; how many series have just stopped, some on a cliffhanger never to find the answer. This has been one of the best television programs to have been on tv for some time. Sad it’s gone.
so so true
By FAR, one of the best Drama’s ever to hit CBS … what were you thinking?!? What a horrible shame to drop a fine show with wonderful actors and terrific writing. There is getting to be so little “good” television on anymore. You want to drop something, start with all of those ridiculous “Reality” shows, they are miserable!!
One of the best hospital/doctor dramas on TV. Bring it back!!
