We’ve received several emails from readers who love CSI: NY and are worried that it’s been cancelled. Will the show ever return? The simple answer is, “Yes, it’s on hiatus until March 30th.” But, while the TV series hasn’t been canned yet, Gary Sinise and company could certainly be in their final season.
It’s no secret that the ratings have declined over the years and that’s probably one of the reasons that CBS moved it to a Friday night timeslot. It still brings in a respectable 10 million viewers each week but is one of the network’s worst performer in the prized 18-49 demographic, even when you adjust for the Friday timeslot. Year-to-year, the show is also down by 7% in the demo.
At the recent TCA press tour, CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler noted that, though she loves the CSI shows, “Nothing runs forever. How you handle it, the most important thing is how you respect your audience, how you respect your cast, and being incredibly sensitive to how you wrap up any show when it ends a successful run. But we are in those talking stages now (about how to end the CSIs).”
It’s unlikely that CBS will end all three CSI series this year but they could certainly drop one or two of them. Based on the ratings, the New York version would be first in line to be cancelled.
What do you think? Is this the last season of CSI: NY? Should the series be cancelled or renewed for one more season?

I love CSI New York. I wish CSI Miami would just fade into the ocean. I am so tired of the cast and the lack of dialog in the show, it is painful to watch, so I don’t even bother.
I also agree CSI NY is the BEST of the three, Miami has had a bad odor for years and the original was ruined when the original head of the team left, his replacement this year is ok but still not as good as Gary Sinise and crew.
I agree, get rid of CSI Miami and keep CSI New York. Sinise and company keep a good steady rapor with their story line to audiance acceptance. However I for one am tired of the prepetual one liners from Caroso. His acting took a hit whene he was on the NYPD series and hasn’t recovered. Drop them and keep CSI New York.
CSI New York is a great show, along with Blue Bloods make for a nice Friday evening, much better than the currecn Gifted Man, look for ward to CSI NY return in March
I much prefer CSI: New York to CSI: Miami. The lines in CSI: Miami are so canned! I still watch it, but only because the other local stations don’t run anything better. Most of the satellite stations run their programs again later the same night of the next day, so I can still catch them. I hope my one little vote counts.
csi/ new york is better than csi/las vegas. get rid of IT. keep csi/new york!!
please do not cancel CSI NY all the good shows are being taken off and only garbage is left on take of las vegas I agree it has really gone downhill My only complaint is I missed out on the first seasons and when try to watch on spike or tnt they play the same ones over and over after 8 years of shows
I want CSI:NY to stay! One of my favorite shows!
Keep NY get rid of Miami
How can a network cancel CSI NY and keep CSI Miami?? Gary Sinise is one of the most intellegent actors on tv. That shows how the networks are pandering to an audience that prefers babes in swimsuites rather than a well thought out script with believable characters. KEEP CSI NY
I watch every week if they get rid of it i will move on to another channel. To much is out there to mess around with cbs if they are not going to run my shows
This is the best of the CSI’s! The wrong one to kill.
Please keep CSI New york if you cancel any make it CSI Miami
What’s that mean
Cancel MIAMI , not New York.
I love CSI New York. As far as I am concerned CSI Miami should have been cancelled long ago. How you can keep it on air is beyond me. Gary Sinise is down to earth and a great draw. Leave New York on air.
