The soapy twists and turns of the Monreaux family won’t see a second season on FOX. The network has cancelled the Filthy Rich TV series after five episodes.
A Southern Gothic family drama series, the Filthy Rich TV show stars Kim Cattrall, Corey Cott, Olivia Macklin, Aubrey Dollar, Melia Kreiling, Benjamin Levy Aguilar, Mark L. Young, Steve Harris, Aaron Lazar, and Gerald McRaney. The Monreaux clan is a mega-rich Southern family that’s famous for creating a wildly successful Christian television network. On the cusp of launching a digital retail arm of the company, patriarch Eugene (McRaney) dies in a plane crash. His wife, Margaret (Cattrall), is left to take charge of the family business and is seen as a bigger-than-life leader to the religious and Southern communities. Eugene’s apparent death greatly impacts Margaret and the two adult Monreaux children but the whole clan’s lives are thrown into turmoil when it’s revealed that Eugene has named three illegitimate kids in his will. With plenty of plot twists and turns — mixed in with lies, deceit, and shade from every direction — this is a world in which everyone has an ulterior motive – and no one is going down without a fight.
The first season of Filthy Rich averages a 0.36 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.98 million viewers. It is one of the lowest-rated series currently on the network.
Five episodes have aired thus far and, according to Variety, the network will run the remaining five installments. FOX also cancelled low-rated neXt today. Both were reportedly cancelled due to low ratings and rising production costs due to COVID-19.

Just like Fox to cancel a show that people are watching. So bored with reality shows and crime. Not everyone wants to watch that. Very Very unhappy with Fox decision !!!

Omgosh!!! I can’t believe they canceled filthy rich! I loved that show! I looked forward to each new episode! I would have definitely watched seasons 2 ,3,4 ,5 all of them. It was an awesome show and omg the twists and turns and actors were genius!!! Please bring it back! Put it on Netflix ! Do something! We have to see more!!!
Maybe Netflix will take it. This show was just starting to get interesting.

I cannot believe that Fox is cancelling this series. Filthy Rich is a well designed drama which puts you on a great roller coaster ride. What about us, the people who are past their 40’s? It’s hard for me to understand how LA’s Finest can survive compared to Filthy Rich. As a former law enforcement agent, LA’s Finest is a joke. We would like to see a season of Filthy Rich.
Fox strikes again. Leaving viewers hanging. Fox is good at cancelling shows without tying up loose ends. Too bad the only people they care about is 19-39 ages. To hell with the rest of us. So done with Fox

This show is smart, funny, and intriguing. Give it more time to create a following and maybe actually put some $$ behind it in advertising and u could have a jot hit on your line-up. Hope to see it go on.

Please reconsider cancelling Filthy Rich, we just fpund it and love it. Many of my friends want to watch it now, but dont want to get hooked now just to have it cancelled, maybe let the shows have a chance to be marketed and catch on. We need more entertaining and fun, escaping shows right now. Sad that most of us never knew this show existed, now hooked and it will disappear
Of course it was canceled. It was fun, sometimes ever so slightly campy drama when we need the distraction. I don’t find much on Fox that I truly enjoy, but this was fun snd a self indulgent, guilty pleasure. I hope that one of the streaming oots to pick it up. I canceled cable in favor of the streaming services primarily because of moves like this. Go ahead Fox, focus on your miriad of staged reality competition shows. My husband and I really enjoyed watching Filthy Rich and even re-watched some episodes. Please reconsider a second season.
