What’s This TV Show About?
An ABC legal drama, For the People stars Britt Robertson, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Ben Rappaport, Susannah Flood, Wesam Keesh, Regé-Jean Page, Ben Shenkman, Hope Davis, Charles Michael Davis, Vondie Curtis-Hall, and Anna Deavere Smith. The Shondaland legal drama unfolds at “The Mother Court,” i.e. the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. The ABC TV series centers on six young attorneys, who work on both sides of the law. Whether they represent the defense or the people, these lawyers ply their trade, trying some of the most publicized cases, and in federal court, the stakes can be sky high.
Season Two Ratings

Telly’s Take
Will ABC cancel or renew For the People for season three? I’m surprised it came back for this season, considering that the Alphabet Network cancelled shows which outperformed it. The network needs new dramas and clearly wants to keep a connection to Shondaland with all of its Thursday night shows but, this series doesn’t seem to be working. Viewership is way up but the demo is way down. I think it will be cancelled but this one could go either way. Subscribe for free alerts on For the People cancellation or renewal news.

I am so disappointed to find out that For the People has been cancelled. I loved the characters and the stories. Please reconsider.
This show is the best drama I’ve faithfully watched in years. The acting, story lines etc are all great. Such an unfortunate loss.

I’ve really enjoyed this show, (For the People). Please bring it back for at least one more season if not more. It holds very good actors with good a good story equaling worthy television.

For The People is a Great show, especially in Season 2! It’s a fast paced legal drama and different from the other law and order series. The story lines are timely with incredible acting and unique characters. Let’s hope ABC will give it another chance, since I think it’s premature that the show should be cancelled after just two years when it has so many fans!
For The People was the best show on ABC. TPTB are definitely missing the mark on this one!! Acting and characters, as well as the storylines were all so believable. Let’s hope, another network has the insight to pick it up.
Great writing, great story lines and great acting! A “thinking person’s series”. There are those of us who do appreciate quality!

Wish they would bring it back
I really like For the People — it is sharp and unique and the writers are great – the back and forth conversations are easy to understand and funny and quick. I will miss those actors and their characters. I am also glad they had a 2nd season – it was even better than the 1st season. I am in the over 70 category.
Please do not cancel “for The People” excellent acting . Script writing . Please do not cancel
For the people is exceptional. Acting script and actors… please reconsider…. and please renew!!
I cannot believe that ABC is going to just let For the People die. What a great show. How can you not see how real these people are?
My daughter and I enjoy watching For the People and sincerely hope it continues.
I enjoyed watching For the People but am not in the 18-49 y/o category. They, unfortunately, are the only ones who matter in keeping a series going!
