Frankie Drake Mysteries is ending its run on CBC with its current fourth season. Ovation aired the first three seasons of the Canadian series and it will likely air the fourth and final year, but a premiere date has not been set.
Lauren Lee Smith (above) stars in the detective drama set in the 1920s as Frankie Drake – the first female detective. She uses that to her advantage to solve cases with the help of her partner, Trudy (Chantel Riley). They are often aided by Toronto police’s morality officer, Mary Shaw (Rebecca Liddiard), and morgue attendant Flo Chakowitz (Sharron Matthews).

I’m a fan and often searched for info on how to watch. But I think it got to the brink of jumping the shark. Giving so much attention to Frankie’s mother belonged in a different genre and was annoying.. The new hairstyle? Why? It doesn’t suit the character or the actor and stole attention from the detective as she detected. And where did Hemi and the male detective disappear to.? They balanced the strong actresses in a field of otherwise weak, stupid, or immoral men.
The most amazing show and character development. How can you cancel this remarkable show

Get another network to pick up the series. It is well liked in America.

Loved Frankie Drake. I hope Netflix or Amazon or some other independent network picks it up. It is so nice to have strong independent woman the stars of a show. The shows writing did the characters right!! I will miss this show immensely.
