Looks like CBS is unfriending God Friended Me. CBS just announced they’ve cancelled the TV show after two seasons, Deadline reports.
The series revolves around a thoughtful and outspoken podcaster named Miles (Brandon Micheal Hall) whose life is turned upside down when he receives a friend request on social media from a user named “God.” The cast also includes Violett Beane, Joe Morton, Suraj Sharma, Javicia Leslie, and Erica Gimpel, with Adam Goldberg and Jessica Lu recurring.
The second season of God Friended Me is averaging a 0.67 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.24 million viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 25% in the demo by down by 20% in viewership. That’s quite a dip in the ratings for the CBS TV show
What do you think? Do you watch God Friended Me? Would you have watched season three?
Horrible decision for CBS to cancel this show, just so they can put another smut show on. Just absolute idiots running their programming. Too bad I will miss it and heck yeah I would have watched Season 3
Definitely would watch season 3, this is a great show for a Sunday evening!
Very disappointed that CBS is cancelling God Friended Me. We have never missed an episode . It is uplifting and promotes hope and kindness. I am so tired of the violence and sexual dirty shows. Please reconsider your horrible decision.
Love this show. We need more like it.
So bummed love this show!
Would have watched 3 4 5 more seasons
I watch the show every week and I think its great, I was watching the show tonight and I was watching previews for next week and saw series finale and my wife said wow I just started liking it. There is still a lot of stories to tell and it should not be canceled.
I love this program, so it figures that you’d cancel it. Maybe nexflix will pick it up.
Very disappointed that this has been cancelled. Don’t understand why all the good shows like this get cancelled when they make people feel good. I think it is a bad decision.
This is one of those shows that I cannot wait for Sunday night to roll around to see it. It is people with everyday problems. I pray that it will come on another network. There are so many trash shows out there and every time a good one comes along it gets cancelled. I will miss the show and the cast.
Terrible loss of good programming. My husband and I love this show and look forward to it every week. Such a positive message. Sad to lose it, especially during these challenging times when we all do need to help one another.
I really loved this show. The actors/characters are the best. I’m no film critic, but I even recognize it to be one of the best shows in regards to lighting and color. Some scenes are just so amazing. I think that plays well with the possibility of not just an AI program being God, but God himself shining a light onto a sometimes dark world. I would bet some people stopped watching after the main relationship changed. Some people receive signs to do something, help others, etc, never a friend request, but just like Miles in the tv show, it… Read more »
Love the show and even though I couldn’t catch it on Sunday nights I ALWAYS watched it the next day or two online. One of a few shows I never missed.
I love this show. One of the worse decisions CBS has ever made.
We are very disappointed that one of our favorite shows, God Friended Me, is being canceled. We have been anxiously waiting to see the new episode every Sunday to see who Miles and his team will help. We even hate when the show takes what I call a mid mid-season break because we miss it. Why cancel the upbeat and positive shows but keep the more negative downers.
Is the show moving to another channel/network? What is the network thinking?
The demise of this wonderful show is entirely the fault of CBS Programmers. They gave it a terrible slot on Sundays, took it off many times mid season to show other programs and what made me most angry, when football games ran over, they made sure to show all of 60-minutes, but cut out the final minutes of God Friended me which of course makes the airing incomplete and the viewers frustrated. (can’t skip those commercials) BTW, we don’t watch 60 minutes anymore as its quality has gone down. I hope CBS sees this post because years ago, CBS was… Read more »
I totally agree with you John. It was cut off by 60 Minutes so often – I was angry about that too! Anytime there is a good wholesome show anymore it gets canceled – we also used to love “The Kids Are Alright”, another great show that got canceled. They keep the shows filled with Sex & Violence & cancel the good ones! Shame on you CBS!
