Looks like CBS is unfriending God Friended Me. CBS just announced they’ve cancelled the TV show after two seasons, Deadline reports.
The series revolves around a thoughtful and outspoken podcaster named Miles (Brandon Micheal Hall) whose life is turned upside down when he receives a friend request on social media from a user named “God.” The cast also includes Violett Beane, Joe Morton, Suraj Sharma, Javicia Leslie, and Erica Gimpel, with Adam Goldberg and Jessica Lu recurring.
The second season of God Friended Me is averaging a 0.67 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.24 million viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 25% in the demo by down by 20% in viewership. That’s quite a dip in the ratings for the CBS TV show
What do you think? Do you watch God Friended Me? Would you have watched season three?
Very disappointed. It’s the only show with hope and a positive message. The only show I watch consistently. I’m very sad to see it cancelled.
It is a sad day to hear that “ God Friended Me” is a casualty of short sited programming decision making. It is a great show with a feel good Story line, that deals with all facets of life and the possibility of goodness and kindness around the every corner. Some how good and honest programming should prevail, especially during these trying times over these mindless dating and marooned survivor series absorbing the air waves. We can only hope someone at CBS has a change of heart, and gives them benefit of the doubt – I got one would and… Read more »
I watch and DVR the show every week! It’s one of the only shows that I watch. I am so sad that it’s been cancelled. I refuse to watch the shows filled with violence and sex. What’s so wrong with a show that’s uplifting and happy? I would love a third season.
It seemed to always be in the top 20 per the TV Guide – happy endings and hope are hard to find – such a shame to cancel it
Our family of 5 is heartbroken that they have decided to cancel this amazing family show. We range from 41 to 11 in age and it is everyone’s favorite!!! The acting and storyline couldn’t be better!! We DVR as well. Please reconsider the cancellation of this positive uplifting show that inspires people to be better to each other. I think that’s what our country is in need of!
I still wish that there was another Channel or cable would pick up the 3rd season to pick up God Friended Me. It is a great series and it should return for the 3rd season.
I DEFINITELY WOULD WANT TO WATCH A THIRD PLUS MORE CONTINUING SEASONS!!! It touches the senses and is very heart warming.
God Friended Me was a great show that I watched every week! I DVR everything so I hope me not watching it exactly when it was on didn’t lead to lower ratings. I think many people DVR everything now & watch it’s when convenient for them. CBS gave it a terrible time slot & the fans got ripped off because it was cut off by 60 Minutes so often! Anytime there is a good wholesome show anymore it gets canceled but they keep the shows filled with Sex & Violence & wonder why our society is the way it is.… Read more »
DEFINITELY would appreciate a third season, great show!
So sad…..
I always DVR this show. Would definitely watch season 3.
Please reconsider. The story lines & the acting are great!
I am so sad about it being cancelled. It is the onlyreason I tune into the CBS station. This show is a gem and a breathe of fresh air in the TV world full of crime, drama, violence and adult content.
É para se lamentar realmente, mas é sempre assim, tudo que tem apelo sexual e violento, está sempre na grade da Tv e o que é bom para a família eles retiram do ar. Parabéns ao elenco por nos agraciar com uma série que nos deixa querendo mais
I feel that God Friended Me is one of a very few shows that I would consider wholesome and pretty much friendly to everyone. We just don’t have enough of that anymore, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I hope the decision to cancel it will be reconsidered. It sure does make my Sunday night a pleasure.
It is one of the Feel-GOOD shows I watched every time it was on. Too bad CBS couldn’t see the value in a Feel Good show during these troubling times. I will miss the show!
I’m not surprised as it was clear by the end of season 1 that if they dragged it out too much then it would eventually flounder, so this is the ideal season to wrap things up.
