Looks like CBS is unfriending God Friended Me. CBS just announced they’ve cancelled the TV show after two seasons, Deadline reports.
The series revolves around a thoughtful and outspoken podcaster named Miles (Brandon Micheal Hall) whose life is turned upside down when he receives a friend request on social media from a user named “God.” The cast also includes Violett Beane, Joe Morton, Suraj Sharma, Javicia Leslie, and Erica Gimpel, with Adam Goldberg and Jessica Lu recurring.
The second season of God Friended Me is averaging a 0.67 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.24 million viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 25% in the demo by down by 20% in viewership. That’s quite a dip in the ratings for the CBS TV show
What do you think? Do you watch God Friended Me? Would you have watched season three?
I am SOOOO upset to learn that God Friended Me has been cancelled!! I tape it each week and watch it with my 16 year old son. It is one of the only shows I can get him to watch with me, and we really love it! It is such an uplifting, creative and well written show and always has a positive message. We are so disappointed 🙁 PLEASE bring it back!!
Please do not cancel God Friended Me. We need more feel good shows like this. We do not need more reality TV. Today we need to see more kindness, and people caring about each other. What we don’t need is more people falling into bed with each other at the wink of an eye, or constant fake drama. We have enough drama in our real lives! Please keep good TV on the air.
This is a great show!! Another time slot maybe?
I can’t believe you’ve cancelled this wonderful show. It’s the only really uplifting show on the air, and I always look forward to every episode. It’s about the only show that has no swearing, and all the characters are loving and kind. Please, please, change your mind!
Please! Please!! Please!!! Bring GOD FRIENDED ME back! It was a show that could be viewed by the whole family. There was mystery, comedy, poignant moments, and a good feeling at the end. Not many shows have that! You put it in a terrible time slot … when people didn’t know when to tune in (it depended on when the football game ended). PLEASE try it in a better time. PLEASE!!
Please…PLEASE…don’t take away this non violent, positive series. I look forward to every episode. Your breaking my heart and I don’t have a lot to look forward to these days
Please renew God Friended Me. We need more shows like this.
Finally an uplifting show. Yes i would of watched season 3. I looked forward to it every week
Can’t believe this amazing, well written show has been canceled. It has a moral message, no cursing or immorality. Guess that’s why. Shame on CBS.
This show is unique and like no other. It’s a show about respect, free will, and choices; it’s what the world needs right now. We don’t need more criminal or hospital shows. We need these feel good happy endings stories. I always look forward to watching this diverse cast of people working together for the good of others. Keep it on.
I would have continued watching God Friended Me. This is such a great show that I am sad to see it is being cancelled.
This is a must watch on Sunday nights for my family. We are very disappointed it will not be returning.
Of course I would have watched Season 3. I had no idea this wonderful show had been cancelled until tonight, when I caught up watching this past week’s episode. So upset and disappointed. Didn’t think this show would be cancelled… Thanks, CBS, for making a really bad decision. I know I’m not the only one who feels that way.
My husband and I have really enjoyed watching God Friended Me every Sunday night. The story line reaches viewers of all ages. Cannot believe another great show is going to taken off!!!!’
Loved season 1, but lost interest during season 2 because of the shift in focus to personal relationships and less on helping the friend suggestions. Sorry to see it go, but they did it to themselves.
