TV show description:
A drama series set in New York City, God Friended Me revolves around a thoughtful and outspoken podcaster named Miles Finer (Hall). Miles is an atheist and that puts him at odds with his father, Reverend Arthur Finer (Morton), a beloved and longtime preacher at Harlem’s Trinity Church.
Miles’ life is turned upside down when he receives a friend request on social media from a user named “God”. He ignores and declines the request but it keeps coming back so, out of curiosity, he accepts and the mystery deepens as he digs deeper into his new friend’s account.
He’s led to Cara Bloom (Beane), an online journalist who’s been struggling with writer’s block. Intrigued by Miles’ story, Cara joins him in investigating friend suggestions from “God” and they end up helping others in need — while learning things about themselves.
Miles and Cara are aided by Ali Finer (Leslie), Miles’ supportive sister. She’s a doctoral psych student by day and a bartender by night. Also lending a hand is Rakesh Singh (Sharma), Miles’ best friend and a sometimes hacker who needs some help on the social side of his life.
Miles is convinced that the “God” account is an elaborate hoax and is devoted to uncovering the truth. In the meantime, he’s playing along and, in the process, seeing his life changed forever.
Episode #42 — The Mountain
Miles is forced to examine his lack of faith more than ever before when the God Account sends him his sister, Ali, as a friend suggestion on the eve of her cancer surgery.
First aired: April 26, 2020.
What do you think? Do you like the God Friended Me TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a third season on CBS?
It’s a shame that the networks have to cancel one of the very few shows that’s not just loaded with sex and violence. An actual family show. I certainly hope CBS will reconsider.
Please bring back God Friended Me. I love this show. We need some TV with hope and nit all the violence, death, and sadness.
I think it should have been renewed, gave a great message, what this country needs more of.
With everything going on in the world – this is the worst time for this show to be cancelled – CBS you would be smart to bring it back…..
Great show and as always it is cancelled
I live God Friended Me! Please bring it back!!!! We need some TV with some hope.
This was a great clean show and as always it gets cancelled.
Please don’t cancel this show. It a good clean up lifting show, and we need a series like this in this crazy world. Please reconsider this and let us have this show for a third season at least. I love it. It is my favorite show.
This is one of the few shows that I never miss.
I’ll be very disappointed if it’s canceled. I still have hope. Let’s HOPE it into renewal!
Please cancel a awful show like “Surviver” and put “God friended me” back on the schedule!
Great show of hope and the advantages of having a positive attitude towards life. Miles’s can do attitude was so refreshing on TV. Can’t believe it was cancelled
I love the show. It is a good positive family show without violence. In my household 3 generations join together to watch.
