What’s your diagnosis for first season of The Good Doctor TV show on ABC? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like The Good Doctor is cancelled or renewed for a second season. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. An ABC medical drama, The Good Doctor stars Freddie Highmore, Antonia Thomas, Nicholas Gonzalez, Chuku Modu, Beau Garrett, Hill Harper, Tamlyn Tomita, and Richard Schiff. The show centers on Dr. Shaun Murphy (Highmore), a new surgical resident with autism and savant syndrome. His incredible memory and keen ability to perceive spatial relations inform Shaun’s gifted comprehension of his patients. Meanwhile, his autism can hinder his ability to communicate with others. With only the help of his advocate, Dr. Aaron Glassman (Schiff), Shaun must challenge the skepticism and prejudices of the hospital’s board and medical staff, in order to do his job and save lives.

I believe this show should stay on the air. It can be used as a tool to educate people on autism and the varying levels of autism. Let It Shine!

Freddie does amazing
My husband and I enjoy the program very much and it would be a big disappointment if it were cancelled.
I have a special needs son that is the same age of the character Shaun Murphy. So I man cry a lot during every episode. The trials and tribulations of those in the spectrum are not only difficult for the persons themselves but for those that love them so much. Needless to say – my wife and I love this show and it’s wonderful actors.

Freddie Highmore is a genius and is pure magic in any role he plays. From Bates Motel to The Good Doctor, he is in a class of his own.

I am hooked on this show!! Love it and its very interesting. I have become attached to the characters in the show and I like that it’s not all about Shawn Murphy. We are just getting to know all the staff and I look forward to the next patient to come through the door. I would be very disappointed if it was cancelled. It rates up there with This Is Us. It’s been years since I’ve been hooked on a TV drama. Now I’m hooked on two of them!!

I watch is madam secretary. It should follow him throughout his residency and when he becomes a full fledged doctor

I love The Good Doctor !! I set my DVR to tape the series just in case for some reason I miss it. I can’t even describe how much this show touches me. I don’t even let my husband talk when it’s on because I’m so absorbed into it. My heart would break if it was not renewed. Can hardly wait for the next episode!!
Our favorite new show. We haven’t missed an episode. Having taught school for 20 years, I’ve had quite a bit of experience with autistic children. Freddie Highmore does an amazing job portraying a person with autism. We will have a hard time waiting for season 2 to begin.
