After 13 years of movies and TV show episodes, magic is leaving the town of Middleton. Hallmark Channel has decided to end the Good Witch series so there won’t be an eighth season. The series finale airs on Sunday, July 25th.
A fantasy comedy-drama series, Good Witch stars Catherine Bell, James Denton, Sarah Power, Catherine Disher, Kylee Evans, Katherine Barrell, Marc Bendavid, and Scott Cavalheiro. Set in the town of Middleton, the show follows Cassandra “Cassie” Nightingale (Bell). She’s the owner of a shop called Bell, Book & Candle and is married to Dr. Sam Radford (Denton). Like her daughter Grace, Cassie has the gift of enchanted insight and magical intuition. The velvet pouches of soil discovered by Cassie, Abigail (Power), and Joy (Barrell) at the end of season six mark the start of a new Merriwick mystery for the cousins to unravel. This leads them to reflect on their pasts and how certain life events have impacted who they are now. Alongside the usual Middleton fun, season seven promises new relationships, personal challenges, and romance.
The seventh season of Good Witch is averaging a 0.12 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.53 viewers in the live+same day ratings. Compared to season six, that’s down by 29% in the demo and down by 18% in viewership. It’s one of Hallmark’s lowest-rated series but still does pretty well when compared to other cable dramas.
Here’s the series ending announcement from Hallmark:

Why do they alway cancel the good shows that people tune in weekly to watch and enjoy ..love good witch
I am truly sad that this wholesome show has been cancelled. My husband and I will miss watching the Good Witch, it kinda puts a damper on things, oh I know shows don’t last forever unless your a soap opera?, NCIS or Law and Order: SVU but we thought it would be around for at least 2 more seasons. Wish all the cast and crew well and Thank you for and enjoyable 7 seasons and all the movies you all given us thru the years. You all will be missed❤
I absolutely love this series and will miss it. Always my go to show! It has taken a different path after the kids left home and Cassie isn’t in her shop at all. Lately they have lost that Nightengale magic but I still love the show. Vote to renew it if that counts!
I love The Good Witch It’s the only show I look forward to watching.
I wish that they could switch it up and bring it back. Great show. Hallmark needs more good shows like this.
Very disappointed. Love the good 2witch. Will now cancel the Hallmark channel
Should cancell when calls the heart. Very boring. Also hope you do not let Lori Laughlin back on. Your channel. Not. A good person
I will truly miss this show. It is one of my favorites. I think the writers just were not doing as good a job. Also the new cousin wasn’t as good as Grace
Why??? Love Good Witch.
Sorry to hear this show is ending. I like the Good Witch. It’s a show full of wonder and feel good vibes. Love Catherine Bell. She is adorable
I really hate seeing that this is the end of Good Witch. I have really enjoyed this series. I love the Hallmark Channel because of the types of shows it plays. Before I started watching the Hallmark Channel it seemed like all you could find was shows with crime such as killing and stealing. Good look to the Good Witch cast and crew sure will miss you.
The writing has been on the decline for the last 2 seasons, this isn’t much of a surprise. For me, what was once a favorite, couldn’t wait to watch, and would usually watch 2x is now meh.
Not pleased with this one bit, this makes the 2nd show that hallmark has canceled, I’m beginning to believe that hallmark channel is not worth watching at all anymore
I love love the show the Good Witch please please don’t stop it’s such A wonderful program warms my heart keeps me going knowing I can achieve the things that I meant to do love all the characters please don’t stop there keep going horse series or another show with the same characters if possible love to everyone Gina
I really hate to see them go. Television is taking all the great shows off the air and I thought Hallmark was different. You don’t know a good thing when you have it. Good luck to the cast you guys are the best.
So sad to see this wonderful show go…. I’ve loved every single movie and look forward to the Halloween special every year… Bad call Hallmark bad call.
So disappointed. Have watched this show from the beginning. Really going to miss it. Hope Bailee/Grace is in the finale. Maybe in 5 years, they can do a re-boot.
