After 13 years of movies and TV show episodes, magic is leaving the town of Middleton. Hallmark Channel has decided to end the Good Witch series so there won’t be an eighth season. The series finale airs on Sunday, July 25th.
A fantasy comedy-drama series, Good Witch stars Catherine Bell, James Denton, Sarah Power, Catherine Disher, Kylee Evans, Katherine Barrell, Marc Bendavid, and Scott Cavalheiro. Set in the town of Middleton, the show follows Cassandra “Cassie” Nightingale (Bell). She’s the owner of a shop called Bell, Book & Candle and is married to Dr. Sam Radford (Denton). Like her daughter Grace, Cassie has the gift of enchanted insight and magical intuition. The velvet pouches of soil discovered by Cassie, Abigail (Power), and Joy (Barrell) at the end of season six mark the start of a new Merriwick mystery for the cousins to unravel. This leads them to reflect on their pasts and how certain life events have impacted who they are now. Alongside the usual Middleton fun, season seven promises new relationships, personal challenges, and romance.
The seventh season of Good Witch is averaging a 0.12 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.53 viewers in the live+same day ratings. Compared to season six, that’s down by 29% in the demo and down by 18% in viewership. It’s one of Hallmark’s lowest-rated series but still does pretty well when compared to other cable dramas.
Here’s the series ending announcement from Hallmark:

So sad and disappointed that Good Witch is being canceled when so many things are happening. Please bring it back.
Hallmark please don’t take the good witch off we enjoy watching it on Sunday nights plus during the week and I hope they come out with another season of it
It was a great show until this season, This season was awful for many reasons. I quit watching several episodes ago. Their ratings being down 28+% says I’m not the only one that feels this way. Too bad they couldn’t leave a good thing alone.
I am very upset about you cancelling The Good Witch. I have watched from the beginning. Please reconsider.
Will you be recording anymore of the 2 hours movies you did every year?
It was a good show until Dr. Sam took over being the main character. He needs his own show to fill his big ego. Cassie was a holistic, herbal healer and Sam ruined all of that charm. Jake was a simple small town police chief with great charm of his own. Not a big NY city jerk. Get rid of Sam and Joy and bring back most of the original cast and let Cassie be the star. This show was Not suppose to be a soap opera, but hallmark made it one.
Not happy the good witch is being cancelled. My favorite show, I never miss it. Will really be sorry to see this show go
So sorry to hear this! I have watched for 13 years
I Am so sad the show is ending. I have watched every show since it started. It made my Sunday evening. I have been watching the reruns during the week. It filled the void until the season started. Shame on you Hallmark. It’s such a good show. It will truly be missed.
No!!!!! I’m so sad . My daughter and I loved this series. It’s what got us through last summer during covid . Please reconsider this . Maybe make another movie. This is such a great series
I love the Good Witch, sorry to hear that there won’t be another season
Oh nooooo! This is such sad news! I will so miss the show! Very disappointed and sad!
Good witch was a very good show a family show all the actors were just great I really hate to see this show go very family show
Devestated Hallmark is cancelling The Good Witch. With all of the terrible programming available this show was something I could enjoy with my family. Hallmark has made questionable choices in the past but this one will definitly hurt the channel.
Please keep The Good Witch serie on Hallmark. I love this show. Love Cassie and Marth as well as the rest of the cast. Heartbroken it has been cancelled. Also, I miss all the m9vies on Hallmark since you are filling so much screen time with sitcoms like The Middle, Reba and Golden .
Girls. We can see all of these sitcoms on a dozen other stations. I love your movies and other than watching 5he news Hallmark is my station of choice without sitcoms. Thank you for Christmas in July.
As always, it’s good wholesome entertainment being cancelled once again. . The pandemic has messed with most shows this season! Please please reconsider! At the very least give it a proper farewell. Perhaps in a 2 hour movie or whatever. This is BEYOND disappointing.
