After 13 years of movies and TV show episodes, magic is leaving the town of Middleton. Hallmark Channel has decided to end the Good Witch series so there won’t be an eighth season. The series finale airs on Sunday, July 25th.
A fantasy comedy-drama series, Good Witch stars Catherine Bell, James Denton, Sarah Power, Catherine Disher, Kylee Evans, Katherine Barrell, Marc Bendavid, and Scott Cavalheiro. Set in the town of Middleton, the show follows Cassandra “Cassie” Nightingale (Bell). She’s the owner of a shop called Bell, Book & Candle and is married to Dr. Sam Radford (Denton). Like her daughter Grace, Cassie has the gift of enchanted insight and magical intuition. The velvet pouches of soil discovered by Cassie, Abigail (Power), and Joy (Barrell) at the end of season six mark the start of a new Merriwick mystery for the cousins to unravel. This leads them to reflect on their pasts and how certain life events have impacted who they are now. Alongside the usual Middleton fun, season seven promises new relationships, personal challenges, and romance.
The seventh season of Good Witch is averaging a 0.12 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.53 viewers in the live+same day ratings. Compared to season six, that’s down by 29% in the demo and down by 18% in viewership. It’s one of Hallmark’s lowest-rated series but still does pretty well when compared to other cable dramas.
Here’s the series ending announcement from Hallmark:

This is horrible news….I have enjoyed this magical show for years… it’s a shame that you remove a show that is so wholesome and family oriented….
so sad to hear that their won’t be any continuation of this series!
Very sad to hear that this serie will not continue. It was real good entertainment, we need good wholesome shows and this one was it.
Gail, I love Good Witch I watch the retuns during the week and the new episodes. I always look forward to each season. Please bring it back for season 8.
Well this cancellation just cements my belief that “nice & wholesome” just doesn’t seem to cut it in the entertainment industry anymore. Sadly people would rather watch trashy reality shows. The Good Witch could be a little saccharin at times but was always enjoyable to watch. My husband and I will be sad to see it go, it will be missed.
Wished they didn’t cancel good witch love the show
Another light goes out in the world.
I like the good witch and it is good shows better than some of the other than hallmark channel
I’m really sad about good witch ending. It was a nice show very wholesome. I hoppl e they rethink it through hallmark really doesn’t have many shows that are interesting.
Totally upset when I realized July 25th was to be the SERIES finale and NOT the season finale. I’ve watched all the shows and movies from the start. They are like family and will be missed/mourned. Why do the wonderful shows have to be cancelled????? This one was a bad decision. Sure wish Hallmark would reconsider.
I’m going to miss the show and it’s characters.
So very disappointed this is a wholesome enjoyable experience. I look forward to each news episode
You will all be missed……
I really hate to see a good show like The Good Witch cancelled. It seems as if a show is decent for the whole family to watch it gets cancelled. Please reconsider and don’t cancel it. Maybe Netflix will pick it up.
So sad this show is not going to be on.I guess people prefer trash tv.There was still so much to explore. It was something family could watch it was funny and intriguing.Such a bad mistake.t least make a movie on Halloween or holidays and explore the other characters.
This is sad news, I love this show, and have enjoyed watching the characters growth. Good Witch is the perfect example of a feel good family show
