Case closed. Court is dismissed. Harry’s Law has been cancelled by NBC after two seasons and 34 episodes.
Harry’s Law revolves around Harriet Korn, a no-nonsense attorney who will take on just about any case as long as she believes in a person’s innocence. Over the course of two seasons, the cast has also included Nate Corddry, Karen Olivo, Justine Lupe, Mark Valley, Christopher McDonald, Brittany Snow, and Aml Ameen.
The show debuted in January 2011 to a 2.2 in the 18-49 demographic with 11.07 million viewers. It was a mediocre demo rating but total viewership was impressive and when you’re NBC, that’s better than nothing. The ratings dwindled downward pretty quickly and the show ended the season with a 1.4 demo rating and 7.75 million.
The series was on the bubble for cancellation but NBC brought it back for a second season. For season two, the show underwent some cast changes, no doubt in hopes of improving the ratings. It didn’t work.

This season, Harry’s Law has averaged a meager 1.1 rating in the desirable demographic and 7.89 million viewers.
On our NBC Ratings Report Card, which measures the relative success of shows on the network, Harry’s Law has a “D+” grade and is one of the lowest-rated shows on NBC.
While it’s the second most-watched show on the network, advertisers want to advertise on shows that attract a younger demographic and so the networks must cater to them.
Sadly, the peacock network has cancelled Harry’s Law this time around and the series finale will air next Sunday night. Hopefully the show won’t end on a cliffhanger, making it all the harder for fans to say goodbye.
What do you think? Are you sorry to see Harry’s Law go? Which season did you like better? What would you have liked to see happen in season three?

David Kelley shows have always been great. Ally McBeal, West Wing, Boston Legal, and now Harry’s Law. NBC should be GLAD they have an Academy Award actress starring in a funny, witty, thought provoking show. They must have their blinders on. Also, I do not believe the ratings take into count the new way of watching TV. Perhaps it is not being watched firsthand by individuals, I myself no longer watch anything in real time. DVR should be the new method used by Nielson Rating.
Why do they always cancel the good shows! How much more reality can this country take. Please reconsider and put this show back on in the Fall.
With all the trash on TV you cancel a thought provoking series like this, with top notch actors….what a waste that is. WOW — cannot believe it!
They leave junky shows on and cancel quality shows like this. Kathy Bates is a gem. I’m over 55 and i buy plenty.
Harry’s Law was our favorite. With intelligent writing and a talented cast, we looked forward to watching it every week.
NBC is making a big mistake to cancel that quality show.

What’s wrong with the networks? Now where will I go to watch these fine actors. I can say “sucks, totally” just like a 40 year old in the demographic. And I have lots more money to spend. Sucks to be you, NBC.
Very sad. What a great show. NBC you are my favorite network, but you keep disappointing me.
This show was always a lot of fun to watch. My wife and I watch this show religiously. It’s sad! David E Kelly is an excellent producer. Boston Legal was just as great, and it’s sad these excellent shows have gotten cancelled. I hope they will reconsider and/or make another show just like it.
Please reconsider the cancellation of Harry’s law. It is the only show my husband and I watch other than CNN. It is well written, masterfully acted, and captivating. It is sad that excellent shows are shunned and reality tv reigns.
Don’t understand why this excellent show is cancelled. It has good stories and some really wonderful acting, particularly on Kathy Bates’s part. It’s never boring, which is more than can be said for a lot of shows on NBC. It’s also not a particularly expensive show to make. I wish NBC would reconsider and give it one more try.
Love Harry’s Law and really hate to see it cancelled. It was a good solid show with good story lines and great characters. Guess it leaves room for additional mindless “reality” shows!
My husband and I loved Harry’s Law. We think it is a big mistake to cancel this show.
My husband and I are both upset at the cancellation of this smart and fast-paced show, which we found to have an intriguing mix of humor and important commentary on thought-provoking issues. We loved the little touches such as appearance by Nancy Grace and friends. We are both close to the character Harry’s age, and feel it is disturbing that baby-boomers, as numerous as we are, count for so little because someone thinks we are not buying their products. Sounds like a case for Harry to champion, eh?
I spend money too. lots of money. i love the show. damn the advertising budgets
This stinks!!!! The networks must cater to the advertisers. Show some toilet paper ads because that’s what this decision needs!!!!
Toilet paper, indeed, Christine. I think I’ll cancel NBC.
