What’s next for The Indian Detective? Recently, star Russell Peters revealed there is a second season in the works for the Netflix TV show.
The Canadian comedy stars Peters as Doug D’Mello, a Toronto police officer who gets caught up in a murder investigation while visiting his father in Mumbai. The cast also includes Mishqah Parthiephal, Christina Cole, Scott Cavalheiro, Anupam Kher, Hazma Haq, and William Shatner.
On Twitter and during an interview with CP24, Peters teased a second season of The Indian Detective. Netflix has yet to confirm a renewal.

I loved the first season, it wasn’t at all what I had been expecting, and gave a decent window into the Indian culture. And surprisingly it’s still, one of the few shows i’ve seen in awhile, that doesn’t get stale the more I binge it.

Absolutely return to Netflix. Indian detective gets better each episode and fills the gap with light sarcasm, humor, travel, world trends, crime, mystery and fun with Russell one-liners … Great stuff even if it’s not for everyone! Keep it going!!!

Love it. Enjoyed a comedy drama thats free of bad language etc and yet manages to be funny and entertaining. Second series please.

Watched first season and thoroughly enjoyed it. What I thought was going to be a comedy, I was pleased to discover it’s a dramady with detective investigation linked to India and Canada. Can hardly wait for second season.
